Would any team have realistically done any more/less than what Sky did? At the end of the day they were under no legal obligation to do anything. Have any other teams got instances where they have banned their own riders without any legal requirement to do so?
actually yes, is quite common to suspend an own rider under investigation, not what sky did with Froome but this another story I don't want take part again

So Sky have done what most teams usually do but are getting called sly for it?

yes it is, like every team that exploit this expedient
But that is all of them. No team is going to ban its own rider for months with no legal requirement. They will all do the minimum.
It's like a football team adding a couple of extra games ban to a player after he's served his 3 game ban from the F.A. It's never going to happen.
I would say this is different, here they start with giving their own suspension hoping the UCI accepts this and moves on. For Team Sky in particular there also seems to be a certain fear of their lawyers.
They're basicly setting their own punishment for their riders (also see: Henao), because if they wait for the UCI, it could be worse. UCI so far doesn't dare to object (not even when they allowed Froome to keep riding), so they're probably wondering how far they can push this.

Personally I can't stand racism and intentional violence but what I like about sport is personality. Moscon is not a bad boy. Moscon is a douchebag. But Moscon is also a personality in the sport.
We remember personalities..
Point..man is not angel. But media is also after. he is like that poor Liverpool goalie. Still media waiting when he makes next mistake, to get new headline.
Man has personality and power for sure. After all for Nibali Wordls hangs with leaders almost all the way.
Winning week later ITT Italian champ title, second year row.
Racism is an indefinite offense for a public figure.
We don't go "oh he hates gays but he's driving fast" or "oh he raped women but I like his movies" anymore.
It's 2018. Fuck that guy, he's cancelled. Support decent people.
He made a (unjustifiable) racist insult during a race, something that happen dozens times during a football match (ok ignorance in football is unattainable), but we are judjing him like a Gestapo member. calm down
