Eh. Good ride, bad finish. Olivier gained 90 seconds without a single stat to back that up.

Thanks SN, nice to see Marzuki still being active. Gratz to dev, dominant win by Alarcon. The big favourite has confirmed his aspirations on the first big mountain stage. Great result by Henao, too.

Good to see Olivier not injured after his 2 crashes and still going strong. Very strong even.
The stats in the beginning show that Olivier has quite a bit to do but this was a nice start.
Alarcon dominating might not be surprising but I guess others might have a good shot of challenging him more on other stages. Not over yet. |

Pure dominance. Alacorn looks unbeatable, but ofc there is still a long way to go. No need to give up. His superior main stats MO/ACC surely would make him the top favorite, but let's see how he does in the final week.
Can't be unhappy with a 3rd on the stage, even though I would ofc prefer a less big gap to Alacorn. Morton did not look good on the final km, which is a minor concern yet. Could have been a better result, if he had not cracked. But well. Stage podiums is what we need here, so I'm fine with the first mountain stage. Dyball did his work, which ain't easy with no more support except of Canty. If he somehow translates his domestique services into a notable GC result, that would be great obviously.

Cool to see former cyclist David Abal up to 4th in GC. Alarcon just went beast mode and firmly put himself as the guy to beat here.

Positive surprise so far He will drop down eventually just hope he can achive our top 10 goal. Did think before the race that that would be tough but looking better now, I mean he have survived one hill stage
Ludvigsson and Lövkvist sitting nicely top 25 in the GC aswell.
Impressive by Alarcon!
Thanks for the reports so far! |

Yeah, pretty much!
I'd hoped that the two TTs in the first week would help against a pure climber like Alarcon, but that sort of performance in the first mountain stage with those monstrous gaps just destroy any conserted strategy. I'm still hopeful of a meaningful result, given our investment in this race, but I'm afraid Fiedler's day in pink was our spotlight in this Giro.
Congrats dev! The merit is on you on having selected your top climber where everyone else took a pass.

Yep, packing that XP up and we're just going to sit back and enjoy a cruise around a lovely country
At least we have no expectations or hopes for the rest of the race

Gotta say he rode that stage really fast for not being a cyclist anymore!

Not bad from Mattia, top 5 should be possible and would be a great result.
Alarcon unbeatable today, and he will most likely win the race, but I hope others will be closer the next time. Cant wait for the rest of the stages

Hum, that was a terrible stage by Galta. A great pity, as it puts him way too far behind in the GC. Pre-race a top 10 looked doable, not so much anymore
But what a stage by Alarcon! Amazing, and a pleasure to watch. Big congratulations, dev!
Also thank you for the report, SN. |

Velits worse than Vosekalns or Formolo, haha. Terrible result.

Alarcon on fire! Huge congrats dev, always nice to see a Norwegian manager (despite the regional focus) taking a win. Should be tough to shake that jersey off him now. Nice to see Morton with a good performance as well, hopefully he will keep his podium spot all the way in.

Hmm, I had hoped that Yuriy Vasyliv was a bit better here. In the ideel world he would fight for a position around 20th, but I guess there's no chance he will do that. 24th is OK if he can keep that, but it really isn't much in terms of points.
We weren't aggressive at all on this mountain stage, so I have to hope that we can just get a rider into some breakaways, otherwise we will come out of this race with approximately 120-150 points, which is really bad looking at our PT ambitions.
I can't really be happy for whatever misfortune strikes Moser, and I hope that Velits will strike back. 7th here is really not what was to be expected, and despite him clearly overtaking Vosekalns in the end, Nibali and Monsalve isn't necessarily going to perform much worse than him. So my fingers are crossed that he will bounce back, and then I'd rather beat him in the ardennes

Seeing Marzuki and Hermans in the botd, really gave me hope for a good stage result. Too bad we didn't quite cut it. Good seeing the team active.

Alacorn impressive again. But Morton did well enough to finish ahead of the big group. Every stage like that is a good one. If we want perfection, we need to get rid off Alacorn though We tried. That's fine.

Still no breakaways for us, but Vasyliv did well. I was a bit worried that he would be around 40th or so when I didn't see him mentioned at all, but he isn't strong enough to mention unless he does something actively which is fully understandable.
Even Kastrantas did OK here to capatalize on his potential top 50GC spot. Moving 1 up, isn't what counts, but staying in the region is important in the hope that he will get into a good breakaway and claw back some time at one point.
Also Murilo Affonso and Cameron Bayly are safely inside the top 60 zone, which could potentially see them get a few additional points if they play their cards right.
Most of our points are likely to come from having riders in the 50-100th GC zone, so having 3 there now and Emerson Santos not far behind is good I think.
If Coquard can survive stage 11 it will be interesting to see if his recovery stat will make him a good man for stage 12 and 14.
