schleck got dropped by everyone last year in a much easier mountain stage. remember his giro?
But he still managed 9th or something in the GC.

I've never heard of the guy that won, kind of surprising.

lol yeah but who cares, I had never even heard about Devenys before today
Just thought it was funny to see how Dekker thought he was extremely good on the first climb, made his team work for him, and then on the climb after that had to let go and even had to abandon :~) |

So being present at the Giro and putting in good performances are both proof that someone is not on drugs?
I love that logic.
By the way, this is the race Kloden is supposed to be in shape for, not the Giro, so it's a bad sign considering he wasn't dominant.

He was dominant enough to set tempo from the front and not allow any real attacks....oh and have Dekker crap out of the race....not to bad for the boys in blue I would say. |

he was in the break, soloed for an infinity of time, got caught on the line and sprinted for the win.

De Bonis was alone in front for a very long time. The final 15km he was about 20-40secs in front of the favorite group. In the last couple of km's Beltran makes the jump, and De Bonis hangs on to his wheel. 500m to the line, the favorite group is very close to De Bonis and Beltran, Gadret makes the jump and passes De Bonis and Beltran with 300m to go. De Bonis takes Gadrets wheel and eventually outsprints him. Very impressive. |

If you ever played PCM/CyM with a rider whose skills are 99 (or 85) for everything, just imagine sending that rider in the morning break with some average or nobody riders. Then attack several times. Once some outsider attack from the pack you drop the guys from the breakaway you were in and while they get caught by the second break and the peloton you maintain the gap over both.
When the outsiders are caught by the peloton one after the other you keep riding solo and the pack can't catch you (only slightly reduce the gap thanks to descents).
Then once another outsider attacks and bridges up, just pick his wheel and following.
When there's an attack in the final pick the wheel and totally outsprint the guy who attacked, you win with a small gap. B)
Duracell batteries, anyone ? |
