Picking teams straight-up it's just a combination of average knowledge, good picking and luck. Picking team against the spread on the other hand implies smart analysis of teams.
I mean if you pick the favorite in every game you probably finish in top3. Add some smart underdog picks and luck and you probably win.

And there are people like 547984 & dinger who always pick their favorite team. In which case for dinger, it worked against Seattle, but for code, it went downhill vs Indy. I have only picked Miami twice this year, and was right once. I am 3-2 in picking Miami games, which is better than some as they pick their team every week.

What happens if TMM or Cycling Rookie get it wrong when there are less than 5 weeks remaining in the season? They lose to the others that came back and also have one loss? Should have done as you said and make this a different game.
