Great riding from Ochoa Quintero - definitely had his game face on today, just don't know where he misplaced it on the previous mountain stage! Hoping form is as good over the next two heavy mountain stage, as expect to get pegged back a bit in the TT - would be good to hold on to top 5 GC. Impressed that Kulhavy kept getting back on, real good fight put up by yellow jersey there. Tight at the top between the podium contenders. Now that Iglinski has the jersey, I expect him to hold it all the way now.

Transition stages went better than expected as well, Richeze finally getting involved in the sprints. My 'sprinters' have been generally pants most of this season. Best of the three stages though was seeing Chernetskiy airing the KOM jersey in one of the BoTD moves - picking up more points to protect that lead - surprised he's kept it so long. A shame he will have to go back to his parent team (Tinkoff) at the end of the season, but he's definitely picking up plenty of experience that will stand him in good stead for the rest of his career.

Finally thanks to Roturn for the regularity and quality of reporting. ManGame has really kicked back into gear, chapeau to all reporters.

Whoop whoop, GC lead Grin I like it!

Stage 7--Nice to see Clavero fight again for top10, but no luck. And also good job by Ospina to get into the break, and he was sooooo close to snatching it! (ok not that close Pfft)

Stage 8--All in all, I'll take it. Raisin didn't jump the initial move but seemed to fight the whole climb to play catchup. At least he didn't have a bad day like that last mountain stage, and he's just peeking in on the top 10 right now. Another mountain stage, and then it's the crucial TT! At this point, top 5 wouldn't be too ambitious if Raisin can hold his own for the next stage.

@cunego: Was there any doubt you would win this race Pfft

Big thanks to jdog for making this AMAZING userbar!

Easy Vrecer, take it easy... No silly attacks on the first mountain, or you will even miss out on a top 20...

And another rider made sure I won't even bother offering him a new contract. Well done mr Vrecer.

Sprinters out! Banana And Polivoda will finish the race this year! Banana

Vrecer is not getting any younger I guess. Pfft
But actually he is doing pretty well here imo being always in a group of better climbers.
There just are too many better climbers.

You are doing these reports in an amazing pace and they are still top quality. Great job roturn!!

When it comes to the race, Sinelobov is doing okay I guess, and Wu is a contender to the climbing jersey, so hope he will do something fun in the next stage.

It's the fact he's getting old, not strong enough, and my focus for next season doesn't suit him very well...

At least assuming I'm relegating that is...

Can already tell you Prevar will play a key role next year.

Very nice to see Ruben Fernandez in the breakaway and moving up to 2nd in the U25. Delio Fernandez not bad in 10th but slightly disappointing from Parra Bustamante and Jeannesson who didn't attack or counter at all. Overall not a good stage but it wasn't too bad.

@bjartne: Thanks. I had them stored for some day. So I just need to copy&paste them from a text file now. Wink

@fjhoekie: Agewise I fully agree. He was really strong last year overperforming even. This year he is just a helper and top20 guy in those races on his own.

Same with Gomez Marchante for me. Ageing and not really riding very successful or even motivated. Pfft
So time for Daan Olivier to shine next season, still unmaxed but one of my best climbers then with 77.

Rodrigues Banana
Now he is in the spot I need him to fulfill my win goal, but I doubt that he will win with the timetrial in mind where Iglinsky probably will win at least a minute.
Iglinsky got lucky here that he was awarded the time of Ochoa, those seconds would have been important.
Tomorrow Rodrigues will be the dumb one in the yellow jersey that gets oversprinted by the other two top climbers after leading them to the finish. But I hope he gets at least the mountain jerseys at the top, only two points separating him from Chernetskiy.
My other two riders, Poorseyedi and Sayar, that where rather high up the ranking lost a lot of ground today.

Damn I'm not even sure Herklotz will get more points next season on lvl3 the way he's riding already
I knew from the start that downhill stat will help him quite a few times in his career.

Can't say I'm disappointed he didn't get the stage win though this is already the second one he misses that closely after the Bretagne puncture.
Those breaks can really backfire so I'm more than happy it didn't.

I guess Martinez will pass him in the TT, Nicacio and Rodriguez too if this was too tiring.
Still that makes it at least 8th place in GC which is amazing. Smile

The Rider
Paulinho showing really well there. Wink We look set to lose some more time on the final mountain stage as the big guns will fight it out again.

Don't jinx it Grin after our season so far, I wouldn't be surprised if Iglinski fell just before the ascent in the next stage Pfft

But if he manages not to lose much time there, I'm optimistic he'll win this, with his superior TT and REC (compared to Rodrigues).

Well.....Raisin hanging on at the back the whole day...and then some massive timegaps..not good.

In more bad news, Cruz, you just needed to survive one more stage........

Very disappointing from my 3 GC riders there now the best of them is in 13th...
On the other side of things, good ride from Adamou getting in the breakaway and coming so close to another breakaway stage win, but 3rd isn't too bad for us anyway. Hopefully the breakaway works for the team on the final stage and we get our stage win Grin

cunego59
Oh boy, 57 seconds will be a tough challenge for Iglinski, but I'm still confident. Thanks for the swift reports roturn!

A gap is a gap, but that could have been way worse.
Good attentive riding all the way through and if you're probably not even among the 20 best climbers here, having a Top 10 spot all but sealed - realistically looking at 8th - what's to complain Grin

Though that said with such a long race and such a long TT, a lot can still be shaken up. Add bad daily form...

baseballlover312
Wish Schoffmann had that but another great performance by my team, and Rasmussen still in the race. A majorly successful stage despite outer lack of a substantial climber.
