No selection at all in this race, group was way too huge coming into Ans. Are flanders the only races left with proper racing from start to finish? Gerrans winning is a natural fit given the compactness of the race. Too bad for Caruso, always unpleasnt to see someone lose the race in Ans after fighting for long.

Nah, the turn was perfect, it happened so sudden, i think it was a puncture, that made the wheel slip..

He actually rode a really good race - didn't jump at any stupid attacks off the front like all the other favourites did and sat back and conserved his energy. He positioned himself well and always has a teammate with him. Didn't really put a foot wrong.
Yeah the race was average but wheelsucking? That is absoute rubbish, he let his team mates do the work and he played to his strengths. I get really tired about this wheelsucking bullshit that gets thrown around by people watching races. ITS CALLED TACTICS!!!

Well yes that's my point, why on earth would you attack if you got a good sprint. Martin's crash ruined it for Kwiatek a bit because he had to go wide and lost Gerrans' wheel for a bit.

You're Aussie, so obviously you are never going to agree, but Gerrans won because he never did a thing. Even when Martin attacked, Gerrans didn't respond, just waited in Valverde's wheel.
That is literally the definition of wheelsucking.
It's good tactics, but not entertaining racing.
