Thanks all for the kind words! Hopefully we don't just look good in our kit, but hopefully we look good in the overall team rankings too.
________________________________________
We're heading into that final phase of the year where the riders' fates will be decided. Seeing as we're moving down to CT, we'll need to make some good strategic choices. It went quite well last year, so hopefully it can go even better this time around. Let's look at our plans:
● Will be Renewed - Unavailable for Transfer
| John-Lee Augustyn | | Tyler Day | | Louis Meintjes* | | Johann Rabie | | Jacques Janse van Rensbrug | | Willie Smit* | | Jay Thomson | | Gasore Hategeka | | Valens Ndayisenga* | | Adrien Niyonshuti | | Meron Russom* | | Costa Seibeb* | | Heiko Redecker* | | Yves Ngue Ngock | * Available for Loan to PCT/PT (see page 6 for 2015 stats).
● Will be Renewed - Potentially Available
| Cherif Abdallah | | Dylan Girdlestone | | Metkel Kiflay |
● Will be Renewed - Intent to Sell
| Saulo Lay | | Roman Maksimov | | Héctor Hugo Rangel |
● Released to Free Agency
| Stefan Ihlenfeldt | | Songezo Jim | | Christoff van Heerden | | Martin Wesemann | | Francisco José Terciado |
Some riders are labeled as unavailable. Of course, any man will go for the right price.

He's actually not all that bad. I just think I've been a bit unlucky with PCM13 when compared to some other sprinters. But he has to leave

What an amazing jersey!
*I will take some notes about availability of some of your riders on a loan too*

I think our main focus this transfer season is going to be grabbing a sprinter, in which case Abdallah could be an African leadout alternative for us. We're also happy to help you with the aforementioned loans of course. I guess whatever happens we'll end up talking during transfers.
I'm also interested to see if any of the new guys who end up being picked go for an African focus. Would definitely be interesting if you had a CT rival. |

@Roman: Why thanks! Interesting, I'm taking note of you taking note.
Heine: It's nice to know that there's substantial interest in him. But I have quite a few riders I'm looking to loan out, so transfers will be an interesting time.
FrolimeDog: It definitely is a maybe. It really depends on how renewals go and what's in store with new free agents (not that I think there'll be major additions). I guess from one African team to another we need to assist each other with talent development - for the greater good.

Press Conference: 2015 Plans The Project: Africa management team called a press conference at the La Motte wine estate in Franschoek - close to the team's base in Stellenbosch, South Africa. The agenda was the team's plans heading into the transfer season after they received a notice from the MGUCI that they would remain in the PCT division for 2015. Here are a few extracts from what the manager, aidanvn13, had to say one day after his 18th birthday.
"You had a bit of a rough transfer season last time around. How did that impact your season?"
Obviously we had a disastrous mishap last year. We were unable to secure Juan van Heerden and had to scramble around last-minute for a replacement. Furthermore, we made a calculation error that left us 5 000 Euros above our salary cap and had to sacrifice one of our biggest signings. The season was mainly just an attempt to scrape points together.
"Going fully African is a big priority for your team. Is it within your plans this year?"
I'm trying my best to put together a full-African roster. It will not be easy, but it is within the realm of possibilities. However, I think I might compensate with one or two foreign signings as temporary team leaders - probably only for the 2015 season.
"Will your team be focused on a certain specialisation next year, such as climbing, sprinting or perhaps even cobbles?"
Yes certainly! The African market has definitely developed over the past few years and has had an influx of strong climbers. We'll definitely try to build a team based around climbers and puncheurs for next season. That is partly why I'm thinking of contracting a foreign climber to mentor our younger African talents.
"Could you tell us more about who you are looking to contract for 2015?"
I'm definitely looking for a strong climber. Buying someone of the stature of Florentino Marquez is something we're looking into. However, we do have some sponsorship from America (World Bicycle Relief) and I'm sure they would be delighted if we managed to contract an American such as Ryan Eastman.
I've always loved watching Dan Craven race as well as his awesome beard. Living just across the border in Namibia, I'm sure he'd enjoy it if he had a team a little closer to home.
Of course, we would need some support for our big climbers, so any African climbers will be a welcome addition to our team. Zakayo Ndbri has always been a loyal domestique for Kenya, but maybe a change of scenery would be good for his morale. I know Eritel have some strong mountain goats who too might enjoy a change.
However, we are based in sunny South Africa, so one can always be assured that we'll be interested in the likes of Daryl Impey, Juan van Heerden, Nolan Hoffman, and certainly Reinhardt Janse van Rensburg now that he is a free agent.

Awesome to see you remain in the PCT this year and good luck with your targets, though hopefully your african core can perform better this season. |

As part of our transfer intimidation programme, we've released a list of riders of interest for us. We aim to just to "put it out there" so those who have these riders under contract know of our plans. Furthermore, some free agents haven't been disclosed for a surprise attack.
The Africans
| Dario Antonio | | Igor Silva | | Oumaru Minoungou | | Bassirou Konte | | Solomon Bitew Shiferaw | | Estifanos Kebede | | Charles Anguilet | | Zakayo Ndbri | | Phetetso Monese | | Adil Jelloul | | Dan Craven | | Till Drobisch | | Ermin van Wyk | | Daryl Impey | | Juan van Heerden | | Jaco Venter | | Johann van Zyl | | Reinhardt Janse van Rensburg | | Nolan Hoffman | | Rafaâ Chtioui | | Bryce Moore |
The Others
| Florentino Marquez | | Rafael Valls | | Igor Antón | | David Abal | | Sergio Luis Henao Montoya | | Ryan Eastman |

Well lost of clashes there on the African riders I suppose. Hopefully we'll work out some sort of compromise with most of them. Also interesting to see Ndbri and Van Zyl on this list. Unlikely I will sell either, but I'm willing to listen to any offers you have
I guess you're having to re-plan a lot due to not relegating. A nice problem to have though. |

Great looking list Aids. Marquez is available and would be useful guy to have The others list does have one or two I am looking as well, so maybe we'll meet in transfers.
Hope you get a quality African rider in the team this year as well and you'll be fighting for the upper rankings this year!

We'll definitely try to work together as best we can. We've got a common goal anyway. Well, one thing I've learnt is that anything can happen during transfers, so we'll see.
It certainly changed things up a bit, but it's definitely a plus point for us.

Definitly gonna clash a few times in transfers again, yet again for spanish climbers
I hope you get as many africans as possibly so you don't have to sign any spaniards to fill the team with

@Alak: Looking forward to transfers then so we can elaborate further on this. I would love to net some strong African signings, but I'm only targeting mid-table and I'm looking into some African talent development.
@dev: Well there are like 50 Spanish climber free agents, so I'm sure we could steer clean of each other.
@ggDon: Ja, well, I'm kind of only looking for one of those on that list, so perhaps we won't get in each other's way too much.
