I know what you mean but if they had the same names wouldn't it make it too easy to build a great team of young talents who will end up becoming amazing?
No, they don't have the same qualities & talent of the 'old' cyclist, but the same rider type and name.
Or at least I think so.
If they have the same amount of talent, then it's not fun indeed...

Why would it add anything to the game to have a rider with the same name and nationality as an old rider?
Wouldn't it just make the game repetitive? |

I always understood regened rider as being the same in everything but name so you've still got to look for them, but as you know what stats and nationality to look for then it shouldn't be too hard to find them.

Yeah, maybe it would be better not to reincernate riders...

Yeah it wouldn't be as good if you constantly had riders with the same names regenerating. |

Well the idea comes from the FM game and there the "regens" are never named the same like the player they are reincarnating.
So lets say Chris Froome would reincarnate was Pietro Pantalone from the Emilia - Romagna region in Italy..

How is that person anything like Chris Foome?
Or is he not meant to be anything like Froome? |

In the newer FMs, "Regens" are actually "Newgens". So newly generated and not reincarnated players as it was in the earlier versions.
I really don't like the idea of reincarnated riders at all... Same names would be more than boring. Same stat-set would mean that you'll get more or less the same races all over again. Most fun doing a career is seeing new riders/stat-sets develop. |

When you tick the use fake players box in FM it's regents and you can easily tell who is who despite the name changes.
But all the youth intakes are newly generated, not regenerated stars, the old name just stuck.

Exactly that!
I, personally, just like the idea of being able to rediscover my favourite riders. Even though I don't know if they'll become awsome again.
I think the best solution would be to offer it as an optional feature, and luckily that's exactly what T-Photon is planning to do

@Silas
Or just use an editor to put them in game... which you can do with PCM now

I don't understand that at all. I don't get it at all. To me that ruins the whole point of a career. If your that intent on it use an editor.

Just make sure a lot of the different features are optional because as you can see the community have different ideas and interests on things.

Would rather the core game is really polished and good! If the core engine and ideas are bad then the extra features won't make the game better.
Focus on that core part and extra (optional) features come only after time is available. You get one chance at a release and if it's bad people are not going to be as willing to come back

Dont worry i will! i am laser focused on bringing the core manager experience to life and postphoning a lot of the less important features for future iterations. Currently taking the DB for a spin, do you guys have any idea how difficult it is to give continental riders psychological stats?

Ok just to clear things up on the "re-incarnation" topic. Say Cavendish retires. A couple of years later you get another British sprinter called something like Boris Wilkins. However, he might not be the best sprinter, but just a decent one. Pretty much, the idea is that you have people of the same nation and rider type but with different names and slightly different abilities. Another example is that Contador comes back as Continental climber Pedro Orteguila.

That would be the alternative I was not talking about. I was talking about Contador coming back as Contador, but maybe as a vegetarian. Oh wait... I mean as an "average" rider
But I think both ideas would be possible and both would be cool to have. As optionals. I can also understand that some people don't like that concept.

Small update on the technical aspect of the game as mentioned in my original post this engine is build for the future and while Cyanide has been using Directx 9 for there entire PCM franchise i am aiming for Directx 11 from the beginning. This means the following:
- Your GPU is recommended to support Directx 11 and 5.0 Shaders.
- Currently your screen resolution has to support one of the following resolutions:
1920 x 1080
1600 x 900
1366 x 768
1280 x 720
1024 x 576
- Windows 7 or above.
I might add support for other resolutions later but currently you should be prepared for the requirements.
EDIT 1: I should clarify that the above is the current requirements, nothing is final yet
