Besides the sprint he's only doing submaximal efforts, not producing much lactic acid, so all he has to do is eat and his legs won't be too heavy compared to sitting in the peloton. He's a bit more fatigued than if he was sitting in the middle of the peloton but in mountain stages it doesn't make such a big difference. |
