Nice way to get your first pro win. Especially after his bad luck at Omloop this year. Great rider.

if Albasini gone flatout under flammerouge after catching SImon hed win. Was hoping he did, but he has a damn good sprint. Think he thought the couple of guys off the front were going to hold on. |

Italians have never really cared about the Tour. |

Peloton comes in around 7'20 down
Talansky is now roughly 1'10 behind Kwiatek.

Very happy with the excellent performance from fellow American Talansky!

He was going to get dropped tomorrow anyway, so meh. It was all about the stage today

Yes surely, people like Rui Costa, Schleck, Valverde whom he overtook today will put like 10m in him tomorrow.
It's a tough stage. 240kms till base of Ventoux and 17kms uphill in most deadliest environment. |

Basically today's finish was a question of who did zero work in the last few kms. That was Trentin. Geschke and Rojas buried themselves to get upfront, while Albasini did some work also. They were dead for the sprint (not so much Albasini)
Trentin gambled and won. Nicely done.

That's cycling though, the winner is the guy who gets other people to do his work for him.

Not a Sojasun hater but ur prediction might have been to early. Never put bad luck in the riders before they cross the finish line |

Shows how easy the peloton took it, that Cavendish finished within it. |

weren't there points on the finish? or did he gave up on winning the green jersey?

Only the 15 first riders get points, and there were 18 escapees

I really wish Simon could have got that win, just so that Smowz would have to eat his words once again
Still, relaly interesting last few kilometres. I agree that Albasini should have just gone straight around Simon when he got to him with 1km to go - he would have wrapped the win up there and then.

It won't matter. Talansky can just now finish 2nd in the white jersey to Quintana.
