TdF'13 Stage 12 - Fougères to Tours (July 11)
roturn
Hopefully Greipel won`t lose his sprint train...

Henderson and Sieberg both crashed today and have some wounds. Roelandts was able to avoid it closely but therefore got some some bike punching his back there.

All 3 will most likely start tomorrow but it`s not clear yet for how long.

It's always easy to say what your intention was afterwards, but if that was indeed their strategy, it was perfectly executed. Whoever made that incredibly long acceleration from position 20 with like 1.5k to go to take over when they were down to three men, wow!

Degenkolb.

Degenkolb was the rider doing the amazingly long pull, beating the Quickstep train and making sure Argos were in front with 1 km to go.

I think cio means the guy that suddenly sprinted to the front from way back at +- 1.2 km to take over from Degenkolb for a short pull up to the first corner. That was Roy Curvers.

I think cio means the guy that suddenly sprinted to the front right after the flamme rouge to take over from Degenkolb for a short pull up to the first corner. That was Roy Curvers.

I wonder if any rider (let's say randomly Kittel because he won today) goes on forums to post 'so how bout that Kittel guy huh? I hear he's awesome'

I didn't. Came home from tennis, got the replay playing at 5k to go, watched until I was sure Kittel won, and left for the train. Add getting my luggage ready while watching, no time to identify riders.

It was Curvers (according to De Kort in De Avondetappe)

Personally I prefer nicked tape recorders but Cav at the finish today:

“You can sit there and analyse it, but when there is someone simply faster than you there is nothing you can do,” Cavendish said after the stage. “I don't think me, or the team, could have done anything differently. He was just simply better today.

“I tweeted the other day I think he's the next big thing. I spoke with him today actually. I think he's the next superstar in sprinting and he showed it today. He's won three stages now and that's not easy. I can tell you that from experience.”

End of an era or just another writing off to bounce back from? My money's still on him for the Champs Elysees but perhaps the incredulous look sideways on the finish line is a sign of things to come?

Well, I said it would have been wiser to send Danny Pate. Can't recall the last time he crashed out of a race.

You're right, EBH definitely threw himself to rhe ground and is such a wimp for dropping out. Pate would have just powered through the pain like a real man.

Sagan has literally the green jersey.

He had it already in the bag, before the race started, throw in how many flat stages you want, he will podium every one of them anyway. Grin

Also this was the pure sprinters part of the race, now come even better part for Sagan to gain another hundred points of advantage over pure sprinters. Only crash can stop him. But seriously, who could beat him in that competition, with his well known consistency and ability to win like 60% of stages.

Kittel is awesome, makes Cav looking like a snail also after fantastic leadout. But Rabon (in TV studio) said that Cav made a slight mistake and left Steegmans wheel a bit too early.
I'll be back

And to be fair, Sagan should've had stage 3 and stage 2 in the pocket, too Pfft

No, when Pate falls the road hurts, not Pate. Pate doesn't fall anyway. Cool
