I don't think the sponsor is going to like the 0/9 Danes in the biggest race of the world..
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

If you're refering to most participations in the Tour, he'll have to continue even more as GreenEdge has already selected O'Grady for the 2014 Tour.

Last km mostly will be:
Trentin -- Steegmans -- Cav

"Mark will be able to count on the same leadout of the Giro d'Italia. They are already tested in race situations and will be ready again. Steegmans will be the last man, and Matteo Trentin will be the second to last man. But, all the team will be committed with Mark when the stage will fit his characteristics. Tony Martin will be there to ride to the 'Flamme Rouge' on the flat stages. He will bring Matteo, Gert and Cav into the best position possible in the final kilometer."

That's a real shame about CAS, I would have liked to have seen him here. But clearly Contador has the most say in the team.
Sure Noval is there because of Contador, but before last years Vuelta Contador wanted Chris in the squad, so i don't think he had anything to do with it.
I'm still surprised he was left out though. They must have figured his form was spoiled by his injury, even though he says otherwhise himself... |

I always wanted to know before start of any Grand Tour, especially TDF what is or how looks the final preparation of the main GC contenders. I am fan of Cadel Evans, and is moreless impossible to get any information in more detail about his final preparation. Here is https://www.theroar.com.au/2013/05/29/...avoidance/ good article about Cadel's media avoidance. I just wanted to point it out |

Normally they're all already shaped up, all the endurance and intensity work has been done. Now their aim is to maintain it by doing short stimulations of all the efforts they'll do during the race, and most of all, get rid of all the accumulated fatigue that was necessary to reaching that level of performance. |

The best thing: they bring Bennatti, who's going to do shit, instead of bringing someone like CAS. |

I would rather like to see Morkov or Nicki Sorensen instead. Hernandez, Roche, Rogers and Kreuziger is Contadors support in the mountains, and that's enough. |

Basically Noval is shit. He is only there because he is close friends with Contador. |

Riis has always said over and over that it's not supposed to be a danish team, it just has several danes because they're more eager to ride for Riis.
It's also why he's always refused to sign more danes once he hits a quote of 33% of the squad
As for Noval. Sigh. He used to be quite good. Then he realized he could rely on his friendship to big names to get rides in major races so now (and for the past 6 years) he's an 80kg climber
Pre-donuts he used to look like this

As I see it that is not really the problem. The problem is that Noval, Paulinho and maybe even Bennati was chosen over Nicki and Chris when both have proven themselves year after year, and both riders have been preparing for the Tour specifically.
Noval is just plain bad. Paulinho has probably been chosen because of the team time trial, even though both danes were stronger than him in every other terrain in last years Tour.
I think Bennati has been chosen for the similar as Tosatto which is okay, and he will probably also be useful if they have to defend the jersey on flat stages. Nicki could probably do the same job almost as good and be more useful in rolling terrain too. |

I actually understand why Bennati is in. He survived that stage Sagan won in Suiise so should be close in Corsica aswell.
Though one of the Sorensens was definatly better to help Contador
