Ouch, that certainly sucks for Koenigsegg. A top-10 is still feasible but it will tough.
More freedom in those hilly stages for him though.

Booooring.
That was probably our first fall this season, so I guess it was bound to happen. Obviously the AI did not even consider Valverde to be team leader since only one rider dropped back. Talk about going from the best stage to the worse stage.

Bad stage for us. Unlucky to have Van Stayen fall and it does sting a little to see Impey take the sprint - though there is a part of me that is pleased for ember also.
Thanks. I'm only grateful that you were willing to let him go last transfer season
He has certainly delivered very well, especially in California, where he was consistent, just that little edge behind your own Van Stayen. Hopefully there are more battles to come between them |

Succes for Koeniggsegg here!
Guerao really is a retard. If he doesn't win tomorrow, he has been an utterslev waste of money - Really!

Nothing bad happened on the flat stages, so now to see if Tenorio can hang tough in the mountains.

Great sprint train again from Pokerstars, it did not work out at the Giro, but here the slightly reduced feld and the more powerful Holloway has helped them to strong consistent sprinting.
Van Stayen was better, some hope he can push towards podium in te three or four sprint stages left.
Now the next set of mountain stages, we will see how the GC men are getting on

Intresting Vuelta so far. Really good to see multiple breaks make it to the end. A shame for Valverde though, he was racing very good so far.
Will be intresting if Contador and Machado can crack Tenorio on one of the mountain stages.
Great reporting all the way through Count!

Another great sprint by Impey. He has been great on the two last stages.
Congratulations to beagle. Degenkolb with another great lead out, and this time Holloway was able to pull it off.
Now it's time for the spectators role again. It will be very interesting to see the battle between Contador and Tenorio, and I also think Machado still wants to have a say. And then Nibali isn't mentioned, he proved great in the mountains in the Giro after a bad start. Now he has had a much better start, and he could also hold on for a podium.
Stage 13 is a key stage thinking of the mountain jersey as well. Hopefully Bugge comes to life and wants to play again. But we shall see, the most important thing is just to cover the breakaways and have a rider in them

I would have been better off without any sprint train at all... Sinner is dead meat after this season. I never saw him as useless earlier, but clearly he is. Good thing I have a serious of decent sprinters coming back to the team after this season.
2nd is the best I can hope for I guess.

Thankfully nothing bad happened to my team on these flat stages, that is a good thing for sure!

Damn, the appearance in that break would've gotten Kelderman the KoM jersey...oh well, he'll be first over some more hills throughout his career

Thanks for a great report, CountArach!
That was as expected from us, and it was probably good as well, not participating in the breakaway, when the favourites and their teams hammered it through the whole stage. That should hopefully mean that we'll be in the breakaway on the next stage. We really have to if we want to fight for the mountain jersey, which Tenorio looks to have his eyes on.
Congratulations to mb, Santander is looking set for a huge point haul here, leading all classifications except the mountains. It's looking to be a big race for them, even without Madrazo! |

Hmm nice sprint at the end from Tenorio, but he looked a little fragile there to me. He is not getting on Contador's wheel quick enough. There are tougher stages that that to come.
Encouraged to see Moinard in the break, though he didn't quite pick the right day.
Chaotic stage though, interesting to see Valverde making a nuisance of himself.

Finally some action, incredible stage and magnificent report Count. Unlike others have suggested, the shortness of the stage wasn't a decisive factor in the way it was ridden. I'm glad that happened.
And what brilliant result for Tenorio who now leads all classifications except for the KoM However I feel that both Machado and Contador deserved better. They clearly were the instigators and should have had better luck I think. As to Plaza I'm very satisfied he's still able to hang onto that top15 place.
As for tomorrow I fear it may very well be Mendes' last day in the blue-dotted jersey.

That was pretty good in the end, given how we managed to miss the bloody split Great report Count, thanks |

That's incredible by Tenorio, massive performance.
Hopefully my team can keep it together until the final climb tomorrow.

Nibali looked strong pulling himself all the way back to the leaders there, but he needs to race smarter and not miss the initial attacks. That podium battle with Contador is tight.
