@TMM - Icredible work man, totally loved reading it! You of course get your "reward" for it! Check the scoreboard!
Here is the long-awaited starting stage of the TdU!
Santos Tour Down Under Stage 1
The stage is pretty flat, has no real difficulties. The finish is downhill, we can expect a speed-fest by the sprinters... Hansen will be right there, for sure.
Today's race kicked off quite slowly, a 5-men break formed, by this one wasn't especially strong, there weren't any really big names in it, maybe the former World ITT Champion, Bert Grabsch can be considered as the most dangerous rider in the break. The pursuivants got a gap of 5 minutes from the peloton, we were also happy to let them go, as we feared that a much stronger group will establish itself, if we don't let them go.
As the lead of the BotD grew bigger, the peloton was still taking it really easily, led by the spanish Movistar team. They were working a bit to show their colours, and keep things together, to let Kiryienka shine on tomorrow's hilly stage. They were obviously hoping for the leader's jersey... There were a really little help from other teams for them, though Liquigas contributed a bit, most likely for Viviani.
As the final kilometers were reaching in fast, the pack closed down the gap to the break rapidly. The sprint preparations clearly started, as Lotto led the peloton, and also SpiderTech decided to make a train for Hansen. It was Miller, Pye and Blackwood before of the sprinter, and this train proved to work well, as it hit the front with 6 kilometers to go. As the 3 kilometers sign passed, Pye started to sprint, and at 2.4 Blackwood took over. We were still at the front, only Ravard and Viviani could keep the wheel of Hansen.
Turning into the last kilometer, Ravard, Viviani and Hansen were at the front, battling it out head to head. Omega's Ciolek was coming from behing was way back, so it was set and ready for the showdown. Who will be the winner?
Aaaannnnddd, it's Elia Viviani, winning the stage! What a close call for the 2nd, but it's Ravard, before of our very own Hansen! Great start for these riders, it looks really promising for them!

Froome and Wiggo are big names and Gary Sutton is soon to be as well. A very good time trialist and a very good climber. A great man for the short tours, but doesnt last well over a lot of race days. Gary knows how to race and is always offering comments and advice to others on the team. Just a really friendly and good guy. Its great to have him on the team.
Such nice words, Thank You very much |

Seen the race from TV here in our training camp. I can just congratulate with the leadouts, they were so fast! Nice sprint for Vegard, a shame he couldn't get a victory. A Top 3 is a great result though! Here we are rooting for you guys.

A spider award in his first ever stage. But our train needs to be able to push Hansen two spots better though
