Sponsor Update:
Rexona sign as secondary sponsor.
£492,000 for 3 years.
Next step is to sign a big UK name if possible.

Transfer Update:
3 days after Rexona more than double our 2013 budget, 4 transfers are confirmed!
Luke Rowe, 22, GBR - From Sky
Yanto Barker, 32, GBR - From UK Youth
Daniel Fleeman, 29, GBR
Thomas Faiers, 25, GBR

thats 7 new riders to the squad in total. 2013 I feel is going to be a very good year.

17th August 2012
"Hot Town, Summer in the City"

Its mid-August. This has been a very very hot summer. The Tour peaked at 38C on a few days. Even the Olympics have been baked. And as expected GB have dominated the Velodrome.
Node4 have been busy getting riders in for 2013. The team is certainly going to be bigger, and hopefully more competitive. I'll still be the youngest then at only 19!
I dont have too much to say. I've been training 4 days a week, and resting on the other 3. I'm getting better all round and looking forward to getting back in a race soon.
The next race is the Ronde van Midden-Nederland, a flat dash based around Utrecht. The team aren't expecting too much, all our focus is on the Tour of Britain.
I did go to London to watch some of the Olympics. On the Mall for the Womens RR, on Box Hill for the Mens RR. Got good spots near Hampton Court for the TT's. Couldn't get into the Velodrome, but did get to see Ennis in the Stadium.
Lucy and i are still going strong. The whole women's team have been having a good year, getting decent results, and always looking to attack.
Not much for now. Just been a hot summer with a girl and a bike, things are pretty perfect.

Ronde van Midden-Nederlands

Team: Cronshaw, Rogers, Lavery, Clarke, Williams, Bialoblocki, Donaldson, Hammarling.
Jack Donaldson debuts for the team. All bout gaining form.

The break formed in the first 10km of the race. Bialoblocki got in there, with Lampier(IGS), Hofstetter(LET) and Kilun(KPC). They built a maximum advantage of 6'00.

With 20km to go Hosftetter attacked and went solo. Bialoblocki dropped back to the peloton.
With 10km to go I attacked!
i1117.photobucket.com/albums/k587/Average_Man/Hammarling/PCM0001_1-1.jpg

But it was unsuccessful.

Node4 ended up badly placed and sprinting from too far to make an impact.
But Hofstetter was caught with 900m to go!

Comment: Nice first day back. Stretch my legs towards the end. Jack was solid first time out. Marcin was outstanding as always. Just a simple warmup to the ToB.

Maybe that's how he found motivation to attack, a brave effort!

8th September 2012
"Homecoming"

Its the eve of the Tour of Britain. By far out biggest race of the year. It will also be our toughest.
The team has been announced, and as you might be able to tell, i made it.
Alongside me will be Cronshaw, Lavery, Rogers, Williams, Clarke, Bialablocki and Donaldson.
Our sponsor aim is a stage win, and that'll be tough. But breaks will just be good and satisfactory.
Form is not great going in, but i feel i am ready enough to tackle this.
Not much to say here, very nervous. Wish me luck.

Karl

thanks for the comments guys
i would have been really angry with this stage, save for one special man Smile

Tour of Britain - Stage 1
Ipswich - Norwich

Team: Cronshaw, Rogers, Lavery, Williams, Donaldson, Clarke, Bialoblocki, Hammarling

Node4 started off aggressively. Clarke and Marcin tried to get into breaks, but everything was pulled back by Lotto.
Then i managed to get off solo. In fact i stole the first KoM!!! The special ToB jerseys must be laced with something.
i1117.photobucket.com/albums/k587/Average_Man/Hammarling/PCM0003-3.jpg

But before too long i got reeled in.

Eventually the break did form. Williams got in there, along with House(RCS), Hamilton(JBC), Leibonitz(CDT) and Korus(KPC).
They had 7'53 max over the peloton.

With 20km to go the break held 2'20 and attacks came. Williams couldnt go with them.
It was looking as though the peloton had given up with 15k to go and a gap of 3'00, so I decided to go solo again. And i quickly shot up the road in pursuit of the leaders.
My legs felt great and ate up the gap, desperate to get across. But it was too far. Fortunately the peloton had given up so i would gain time on them.

House was forced to lead out, and Korus came round him with 600m to go. Taking the win easily in Norwich!

Comment: Wow.... What a stage! Solo early on, a felt good. Pete rode well in the break, and was unfortunate not to be able to compete in the finale. I cant beleive i was allowed away at the finish! It felt amazing! Not sure if its home soil, the new jerseys or my development that did it.... Probably all three. Great day!

Tour of Britain - Stage 2
Nottingham - Knowsley Safari Park

Team: You know it bu now.

Both Clarke and Donaldson tried to get away early, but Europcar were all over the moves.
The first IS, at 11km, was taken by one of the early moves, with Borrajo(JSH) ahead of Oliphant(RAL) and Hawkins(IGS).
A break did form eventually. Marcin did get into it for the team, along with Avis(BCS), Potgeiter(MTN), Puccio(SKY), Barker(UKY) and Griffiths(IGS).
i1117.photobucket.com/albums/k587/Average_Man/Hammarling/PCM0002-5.jpg

After 52km Barker won the second IS, ahead of Potgeiter and Avis.
Puccio won the first KoM after 65km, with Barker second and Potgeiter third.
Avis won the second and third KoM's after 84 and 96km's.
Barker won the final IS after 134km.

Oh, and here is a pic of me in the dots. Dont i look good Pfft
i1117.photobucket.com/albums/k587/Average_Man/Hammarling/PCM0001-8.jpg

With 20km to go the gap was 1'24.
With 15km it was 53"
The break was caught with 10km to go.

Despite out best efforts there is no way we can compete in a sprint here, so we just rolled in with the peloton.
Rabobank controlled the lead out, and Matthews eased to victory.
