Sagan is getting closer to the win, good to see him get a few bonus seconds before the hilly stages. |

Roma Maxima
The Favourites
So the bookies favourite going int to today is Delfi Cervero of Androni, however expect Nairo Quintana and Benedikt Weschenbeck to challenge him. Then we have the outsiders, those riders that on a good day could get the win, but aren't quite powerful enough to fight for the win on every occassion, these riders include, Sky Duo, Henao and Pedersen as well as Albasini and Van Avermaet. However my outside bet for the day is Paolini of Vacansoleil or Puccio of CCC, who if they get in a break have a chance of staying away to the finish.
The Race
The break of the day went pretty early into the race with it containing 3 riders, they were Maikan (Katusha), Mazzanati (Neri) and Pauwels (Wanty). They quickly built up a lead of three minutes as the bunch sat back and relaxed. The bunch and the break then settled into a rhythm with nothing much happening, could this be the most boring race of the year?
Just to prove how boring this race is the first rider to get dropped is Zach Bell with 84 kilometres to go. That means he has no chance of winning the race, despite being the red hot favourite. NOT! Sorry CSS only joking.
The next rider to get dropped was Harrini of Colombia, to be honest I think his manager was stupid to sign him up for the race, whoever this idiot is.......
OH MY GOD! An attack that actually mattered, and it's from one of the fan's favourites Visconti goes for it with Battaglin in his wheel. Could he go all the way? Oh no he's caught within about 100 metres of attacking, my bad. Stupid me thought this race would be interesting, oh well we wait.
AAAAHHHHH! SOMETHING HAPPENED THERE'S AN ATTACK! Henao attacks, but Quintana and Cervero are chasing behind. BUT THERE'S MORE Arredondo is chasing and the the chase group isn't out of it yet, and there's only 20 kilometres to go so we have had almost 150 kilometres of nothing and then 25 kilometres of stuff happening!
10 KILOMETRES TO GO AND STUFF IS STILL HAPPENING, HENAO IS STILL AWAY, QUINTANA AND CERVERO ARE STILL CHASING AND ARREDONDO IS CHASING BEHIND THEM, THEN THERE'S MORE STUFF HAPPENING BEHIND!
The Stuff That Happening Behind Is Also Pretty EXCITING! Caruso and Moreno HAVE ATTACKED they want to get rid of Weschenbeck before the sprint.
5 KILOMETRES TO GO AND HENAO IS HANGING ON, AS CEVERO KEEPS CRACKING AND QUINTANA KEEPS (I don't know a descritpive word with a Q) DOING STUFF. ARREDONDO ISN'T COMING BACK TO THE GUYS NOW! OR IS HE?
ONLY 1 WHOLE KILOMETRE TO GO AND STUFF IS STILL HAPPENING, HENAO IS GOING TO TAKE A WIN THAT NO ONE WILL CARE ABOUT. UNBELIEVABLE!
HENAO TAKES THE GREATEST WIN OF HIS CAREER IN THE EYES OF NOBODY.
CERVERO TAKES A SECOND PLACE THAT HE WILL NEVER TELL HIS KIDS (if he hars any) ABOUT
QUINTANA TAKES A 3RD HE WONT REMEMBER TOMORROW. WHAT A BORING RACE WITH A MILDLY EXCITING FINAL 25 KILOMETRES.
The Results That No One Will Care About!

Slightly different reporting style there.
Arredondo is proving a really nice draft pick at the moment, the Caja Rural bandwagon rolls on!

Shit. Cervero was so close I wish he took this instead of fucking sky
Let's hope that sky will lose their luck once the grand tours start... :/

Not a fan of the "humor" (in very generous air-quotes) style report, primarily because it didn't make me laugh nor did it seem appropriate to the situation. AI fail, make jokes. Actual race, don't make jokes.
Other than that, we had a classic with decent AI (i would call it good but look at Delfi.... that's not good AI). Looks like Sky needs some more nerfing next renewals period. Did still have the break in the Top20 though.

SECOND PLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACE.
Not just Delfi's children, but his grand children, perhaps even his 15th cousins thrice removed, will hear about this day, and sing around the campfire of this great triumph, as they watch the setting sun shine over the desolate hopeless wastelands of the distant future.
Would have been nice to win though. |

I'm pretty close to just straight-up quitting at the moment. Absolutely ridiculous.
What's the point when the game hates your team for no reason? There's more fight in a dead donkey than in this team. PN and TA need to go well otherwise fuck this.

Jesus Christ, that report was not pretty. Like adding three exclamation marks doesn't make anything more important, making half the report capslocked doesn't make it any funnier. Other than that, nice to see the mighty Delfi do well.

Then it's good Owniak will win TA Sky is really lucky getting wins from guys like Cummings and only a crash from Froome in the Tour can give others a chance :/

Hanzen feels hurt after he's off to a better start that last season. At lesat give it until MSR, then rage-quit! Shindigs won't let you down

@Paris Nice:
Really nothing happened that would be worth noting.
@Roma Maxima: Here I fucked up the startlist, I thought Roma Maxima would still be a bit cobbled like about 2 years ago

A bit of an odd reporting style. I didn't really like it myself, but can't blame people for trying something new
Belkin continuing their sleepy performance here. Although perhaps it's my own fault for sending too many of our best guys to Paris-Nice.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Didn't really like this, especially as it really seems bringing Haussler will never work out. Nice top 25 for Denifl though. Really wasn't impressed with Carlos, only top 30 is a real disappointment despite maybe not the best stats.
And didn't really like the report, no offence
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."
