Another great result by Mario! Too bad a few top sprinters are here, or a GC win would be possible.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

With 98 m of accumulated height gain this stage is even flatter than the previous one…
Once again Hägg and A.Feunard are among the early attackers along with a lot of other names.
Once again they were closed down even though no one felt like sprinting for the first intermediate leaving teh points and seconds for the MTN-workers.
In the end 7 riders manage to get a gap. They are Da Dalto (CAN), Garzelli (VIN), Van Hecke (TSV), Brambilla (OPQ), Bole & Hoogerland (VCD) and Clancy (TNN).
50 km and 2’29.
V.Feunard had a puncture and is lost even further behind.
40 km and 2’08
30 km and 1’28
25 km and 1’12
CCC, Sky and Bardiani are pulling the heavy load after MTN have been in charge most of the day.
20 km and 57 seconds.
Hoogerland goes solo into the final 15 km. Half a minute to the rest of the break and just over a minute to the peloton.
The peloton squeezes up the pace and it has a price.
A terrible crash taking down Hanzen, Modolo and Abundi and catching Walker behind as well.
Will the other teams take over the chase or will Hoogerland steal it all now?
Androni and Katusha continues the chase and with 10 km to go the Dutchman is reeled in.
5 km left and we have one single train with Frapporti followed by Calzone, Kristoff, Van Staeyen and Guido.
Everyone plays it cool an with 1,2 km to go Calzone is the first to leave the line while plenty more have joined up behind.
Androni won’t be saluted by Sky & Co. but Calzone looks like he has no regrets.
A very close sprint behind the Italian.

Guess MTN's lack of recovery is starting to show, still good to see Mario doing good for the jerseys.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.
