Tbh, neither Kiryienka nor Lopez has really improved since joining Sky - they've stayed on more or less the same level as before
Am I the only one who thinks that Lopez Garcia has improved a bit this year...? He's been doing great this year, except the Tour, iirc. As a domestique that is.
Having that feeling too... especially in the Paris-Nice this year i thought he was riding suspeciously well. Probably because of topping form early season...
SKY is just the modern US Postal.
We'll know in 2023 when they find out.

It's revealed that Bakelants had a deal with Alonso. HAD a deal, of course... |

Only 9 riders of the 56 from both VCD and Euskatel have contracts for next year... |

Make that 10 as Sergey Lagutin signs for Rusvelo!! They also sign Timofey Kritsky from Katusha.

Shame to see Lagutin leave WT scene, he's beeen very solid domestique for past few years. Great signing by Rusvelo, Krisky bit less excting.
Anyway, suprised by 3 Katusha signings, preety uninspired siginings.

Andrea Pichele ---> Bardiani
Good move for Bardiani since they lost Modolo, Pichele came back very strongly from a knee injury in his races so far.
Fonseca extends with Bretagne Seche.
Angel Madrazo ----> Caja Rural
Not confirmed, but very likely to come off.

Kirtskiy did something on a TT a while ago IIRC. |

That doesn't make him instantly great He's average in TT's and rubbish so far in everything else - hence far less exciting than Lagutin ( who can dominate most domestic races for RusVelo with ease )

True, forgot to put in the end of the sentence. Lagutin is a great sign for them indeed. On the negative side, no way RusVelo now comes to the Volta a Portugal. |

This would be a great signing for Caja Rural, hope they'll pick up some of the Euskaltel riders now without contracts too, if they have room for them that is. |

Add to Madrazo. Enrique Sanz as well. |

I read somewhere that Lagutin didn't get in Katusha because there wasn't space, but he's guaranteed a spot yesterday.
Also that's a massive backwards step for Madrazo.

Vacansoleil brakes up the contract with Rujano.
Really sad I'll never see him climb again.

Lefevere has confirmed that either De Gendt or Bakelants are coming to complete their team. Last news said it was either De Gendt, Bakelants or nobody, but now we can erase that last option.
He mentioned some difficulties with De Gendt's contract at Vacansoleil, though. My guess is that Bakelants is second choice in case the problem with De Gendt's contract can't be solved.
More news before the end of the WC...

Yep. But he was supposed to be a rider with a massive potential, and he's not fulfilling it, quite on the contrary, he's totally stagnated. A move like this could help him to relaunch his career.

This was mentioned days ago. I don't know, who'll suit better, I like both. But actually - for Bakelants, it would be definitiely better not to go to OPQS, while De Gendt will be great additon/replacement for "our" TT squad.
I really hope, it wasn't just talking into the wind and Lefevre will announce new signing before RR.
Die hard fan of Tom Boonen and Quickstep since 2004.

We thought Kristof Vandewalle was off to Trek but according to Walloon media he is off to Sky!

Bit surprising if true, but fits the usual domestique Sky criteria.
Can TT well, solid climbing domestique and okay over hilly stuff.

Obviously not proof read or not written by a French speaker. What does that "que" do there near the end ? |
