grr... sponsor goals irritate me (too unrealistic)
made a custom team, and got given goals of:
top 10 in PR and RvV, 2 cobblers over 70 (at 73 and 76) - great (should've signed Flecha)
need to win the Giro and TDF - i've got one main GC guy (that can challenge Froome - finished a minute down in Paris-Nice) and then the likes of Sanchez (both) that aren't really top GC contenders (though Lulu did win TDU )
also started with an Aussie sponsor, apparently 5 of 28 riders isn't enough representation (granted only 1 big name, but still)
started well though, won the TDU (courtesy of an attack up Wilunga), 2nd in Paris-Nice (1 min behind Froome), 3rd (with Kloden) at Tierreno (behind Peraud and Nibali)
took a few victories (climbing attacks)
finding it hard to set up a sprint train (but then when the leadout man is Clancy/Blythe it's a little difficult)
TTs are a little difficult too (or under 10k's are) especially considering my team consists of TTers (Pinotti, Zabriskie, Grabsch, Quaade being 4)
edit: scratch that, just took 9th with a 73 cobbler at RvV, who knew that driving it for the first cobbled section caused the race-winning move (eventually Boonen, Chavanel and Vanmarcke latched on, but good enough for 9th)

For my 3rd season with Garmin, I almost fell over when I saw my goals:
Victory demanded in ALL the following: Omloop, Kuurne, E3, GW,RVV, Paris Nice, Amstel, LBL, California, Dauphine, TDF, Eneco
Top 3 demanded in: Roubaix, Fleche, Dutch Nationals, Belgian Nationals (negotiated some of these down from wins)
After a bad start with "only" 2nd, 3rd and 4th in the Omloop, won all of E3, GW, RVV and PR. "Failure" in the Ardennes races followed (2nd in Amstel, 3rd in LBL and FW) and now my sponsor is losing faith!!
Satisfaction with results is just about green and with little chance of 1st places in the NCs, TDF and California where I have a weakened squad due to the need for rest after Ardennes, things are only going to get worse.
Very annoying that despite a series of (IRL) amazing results my sponsor is still annoyed. Also won MSR, Basque and TA by the way. Only MSR registered as a good result. |

well, the tactic that worked SO well at RvV didn't work at P-R, finishing 34th
cobble team definitely needs strengthening, so persuing EBH for next season
also sent my main riders on a recon of the Alps for the TDF (my 4 climbers) - not too sure what the benefit of that is, but hey
tackling the Giro too, just coughed up 1min (or last) in the opening TTT (even with Pinotti, Quaade and Grabsch all riding)
found VoltaAPaisVasco interesting too, managed to put Froome into difficulty with my main climber, so positive signs for TDF - couldn't shake Purito though, wheelsucked for the stage wins too (damn pest)
Giro went reasonably, took 8th with Samu (Evans fell and lost time, and Rodriguez retired) and the KOM with Anton (including solo-ing for the entirity of stage 6)

Guys..in my pcm, i had problem with riders numbers in race..i.e
BMC riders should have no 1-8 according to start list but in race they're not..it like all BMC riders wearing no 1 and then all Sky riders wearing no.2..and not according to start list..Do anyone of you had experienced this? |

You need to tick "one texture per rider" in the options to have their actual numbers. |

Having a hard time deciding my squad for my Shell Career(which I'm going to start with a PCM12-converted jersey(without my desired sponsors and colours), but I will replace it with the jersey MrUfo is going to make ).
It's going to be a strong CT team(like 5-10th strongest I try) that is Anglo-Dutch.
My sprint leader will most likely be Jetse Bol(because of decent potential, but not super-talent, and being good in prologues and cobbled races as well).
I'm having a hard time in thinking of my climbing leaders though.
I'm hestitating between 1. Simon & Adam Yates and 2. Edmondson/Olivier & Bibby(so 1 for mountains, 1 for hills).
So help me out

Sounds good Jesleyh
Anyway, I have reached June with Orbea just before the Spanish Championships.
Struggled for results really, only managed one until Tour of Slovenia where I have just managed another 2 plus the sprint jersey
In some strange news, Fuglsang is now a grand tour champion! :/

restarted my career (took on too many riders, and in debt by July - so yeah)
notable results (just finished MSR):
TDU = 2nd (1 second behind the winner)
Paris-Nice = 5th
Tirreno-Adriatico = 1st
Volta a Catalunya = 1st and 2nd (Anton got into a break and took yellow, but supported Samu otherwise)
MSR = 5th (couldn't quite break free of the group [damn Cancellara] and got done in the sprint)
targets:
RvV top 10 - did it before with this rider, so planning a similar technique (ie drill it over the first cobble section with my 2nd best cobbler, then hope to get someone decent like EBH with me)
PR top 10 - no hope, why is this even a goal? my best cobbler's got 73 for crying out loud (he can climb quite well though, which is why RvV is achievable)
Giro climber's jersey - shoudl be relatively easy with Samu, just got to stay ahead of those annoying breakaway companions (seriously, why do they sprint for KOM points with a guy clearly in it for them??)
TDF win - might be difficult against Froome, but did take the win in Tirreno with him riding
Vuelta win - oh come on, but might be doable if my TDF contender backs up
keeping a breakeven (or locked the balance in at 440k) after my sponsor money cancels out my riders and 1 coach (see my thread about whether they're needed, just the one and training my young talents in climbing) so should be able to afford some decent talent next year (looking at Evans for GC help, and EBH for cobbles)

New Career for me. Asian one.
I did it earlier, but now I did some more finetuning to Asian riders(and adding about 20), plus I ride in 2014
It's Team Huawei - Malaysia Airlines
The team couldn't have a lot cobblers and TTists, since Asia just doesn't have them. I picked the Asian TT champion to have something to say in TTs though. And well, I wanted to neglect the cobbles.
But then, when browsing through the talents in Asia in the custom team screen, something awesome happened.
He's from Kyrgyzstan(I didn't even know the English translation of that country ), it's not Eugen Wacker, but it's an awesome cobbles talent from Kyrgyzstan. Can develop into a 78cobbler(I estimate).
And he is from fucking Kyrgyzstan!!!
And I swear, I didn't create him, it just happened
I will avoid typing his name though.
The plan is to advance to WT long-term, and keeping the team Asian. Maybe Russians & Australians as exceptions, but I modified the Dyn_region table, so there should be some good talents from Asia now and then(chance of a good talent from f.e Italy is still waaaay bigger than from China though
Let alone Kyrgyzstan, the chance that they produce a super talent almost equals zero. Almost! )

Yeah, I'll expand to there later, I wanted to keep the amount of nationalities a bit limited, and when we expand to PCT, we simply need them
Just wanted to stick with the smaller cycling nations for now

Well, if you're being politically correct, Kazakhstan is in Europe.
Somehow.

Looks like a fun team. There's room for improvement though, when you expand to PCT |

Yes there is, I wanted it to be there
And I'm hoping for more talents like my cobbler from Kyrgyzstan as well

It's just like Russia: The area at the west of the Ural river is Europe in this case.

Who is Hari Fitrianto, never heard of him before, or is he a regen? Nice idea, did something similar myself, but everyone was from Indonesia.
Having finished my mini-project on Indonesian Regens, I am free to create an entirely Indonesian DB ,muhahahahahahhahaha. Meanwhile, I've created my old pcm12 team, but it looks a bit Op in 2013... In 2016 it was mediocre.
I forgot some riders, so I just made the ones who stuck in my memory...
