EPIC - Season 1 Part 2
Cycleman123
What the fuck happened there!? I new the train would fail when I saw Meier and Meyer there. I was hoping Howard would just follow another train. Anyway, good job Alba helped us out and also got some nice bonus seconds Smile

It's a good thing. Smile

Hello Everyone
If someone can send me the 2013 route for the Tour of Norway on PCM11 it would be gladly appreciated. If you do soI will need a bit of guidance on how to add it to my game. So PM me asap if you can.
Thanks
LLS

Anyone? Or is the 2011 route the same?
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

nacho63
It doesn't have the Lillehammer stage 4 included in both 12,13

Whatever route will be used, it definitely need to contain a tough hilly stage. That's what I based my goal and lineup on.

Also, Trentino today. Realised that I was able to post the report too late yesterday, so could only upload the screens. Report comes soon.

Giro del Trentino – Stage 5

i1326.photobucket.com/albums/u660/jesleyh/EPIC/Profile_5_zpsf6e21c4f.jpg

Today’s stage will decide the GC. The stage is just 160km.
After roughly 115km, the riders will have to take the Brentonico climb. The second part is fairly steep, even reaching gradients up to 20%. A downhill and a small flat part follows, and the main obstacle of today is called the Sega di Ala, a 12km climb of 9,5% average. It will certainly cause GC differences.
This will probably be another showdown between the 3 top climbers. The sequence is what matters most. Purito and Contador can take risks, after all, they can both lose around 3 minutes on the 4th. Purito lost 31 seconds on Nibali, and Contador is on 55 seconds. But Nibali used a lot of energy yesterday. Will that have consequences?
Also, it will be interesting how the fight for 4th develops. Could König hold on to that? Also, what will AG2R do? They are on 8th, 9th and 10th now. So they will probably take some risks.

The Race
155km -
i1326.photobucket.com/albums/u660/jesleyh/EPIC%20Reports/Trentino_52_zps5d59cff7.jpg
A breakaway was formed fairly quickly. Some good climbers: D.Rosa(AND), J.Coppel(COF), Cardoso(CJR) & Pardilla(MTN). A 100% CT break it is, and they already have 2 minutes.
149km -
Guys that missed out started to regret, it seems. Al Mohney(LAM), E.Battaglin(BAR), M.Rabottini(VIN), S.Firsanov(KAT), G.Izagirre(EUS) attack, and get space. Santaromita(BMC) follows on a distance.
147km -
i1326.photobucket.com/albums/u660/jesleyh/EPIC%20Reports/Trentino_53_zps8c9e4ba5.jpg
Astana thought it was too much, and reeled the ‘new’ group back in, leaving only those 4 ahead after all.
120km -
These guys don’t get too much space, they have 4’30 on the peloton. The riders now reach a long, flat part, which probably won’t bring too much action.
100km -
The gap seemed to have maxed out at 5’30.
68km -
The 4 escapees are now 4 and a half minutes ahead of the pack. The weather is awful today.
44km -
i1326.photobucket.com/albums/u660/jesleyh/EPIC%20Reports/Trentino_54_zpsc6ef2579.jpg
The leaders have reached the climb, with a gap just under 3 minutes. Doesn’t seem enough, but hey, that’s what we thought last time. Astana is controlling the pack.
39km -
i1326.photobucket.com/albums/u660/jesleyh/EPIC%20Reports/Trentino_55_zps34cc7b28.jpg
The leaders nearly reached the KoM. Coppel doesn’t look too good, but should be able to hang on. Meanwhile, a few secs later, Atapuma(COL) attacks from the peloton.
i1326.photobucket.com/albums/u660/jesleyh/EPIC%20Reports/Trentino_56_zps7ff1b7bc.jpg
Herrada(MOV), Nibali(AST), Ulissi(LAM) & Bardet(ALM) try something as well on the steep hills. Contador tries to follow.
38km -
i1326.photobucket.com/albums/u660/jesleyh/EPIC%20Reports/Trentino_57_zps97cbae46.jpg
Rosa wins the KoM. Pardilla sort of cracked. The peloton got back together, except for Atapuma, who’s now 1’39 ahead of the peloton. He’s still 2 minutes behind of the leaders though, which means the gap to the peloton is at roughly 3 minutes.
32km -
Atapuma reached Pardilla. The peloton is 1 minute behind the duo, and the front group is 2 minutes ahead of them. Notable is that Nerz(BMC) dropped from the peloton, due to a puncture. That said, the peloton only has 53 riders left, with LLanet & I.Izagirre missing out.
26km -
i1326.photobucket.com/albums/u660/jesleyh/EPIC%20Reports/Trentino_58_zpse21342a0.jpg
The Astana train looks convincing. They nearly reached Pardilla & Atapuma, but the latter attacks. The trio at the front is still 2’30 in front though, and they are starting to consider their chances.
16km -
i1326.photobucket.com/albums/u660/jesleyh/EPIC%20Reports/Trentino_59_zps758a23f8.jpg
With Atapuma back in, Barguil(ARG) gives it a go. Ulissi joins him. The gap is now 2 minutes.
13km -
i1326.photobucket.com/albums/u660/jesleyh/EPIC%20Reports/Trentino_510_zps06835697.jpg
While the escapees are nearing the mountain, Barguil attacks again, he doesn’t like the fact that Ulissi joined him.
12km -
i1326.photobucket.com/albums/u660/jesleyh/EPIC%20Reports/Trentino_511_zpsfc4160ae.jpg
It seems that Rosa(AND) got a gap over the other 2. Barguil, on 1’20 at the moment, is getting near. The peloton is at 2 minutes.
11km -
i1326.photobucket.com/albums/u660/jesleyh/EPIC%20Reports/Trentino_512_zpsc1f4a635.jpg
Attacks! So many!
Contador(SAX) was the first to attack, followed by Pozzovivo(ALM) & Nibali(AST).
König(TNE), Purito(KAT) & Basso decided to attack as well, and finally, Peraud(ALM), De las Campos(EUS) and Evans(BMC) attack as well.
10km -
i1326.photobucket.com/albums/u660/jesleyh/EPIC%20Reports/Trentino_514_zps6d16c96f.jpg
It looks like the big 3 will do this again. Pozzovivo won’t hang on, and behind him, it’s König, Basso & Peraud looking good.
The big 3 are close to Barguil. From Barguil, there’s just 45 seconds left to Rosa, who still has a gap on Coppel and Cardoso.
8km -
i1326.photobucket.com/albums/u660/jesleyh/EPIC%20Reports/Trentino_515_zps107e5ac0.jpg
The big 3 already made it to the front. Purito has a tiny gap, but that’s neglectable. Barguil and the 3 remaining escapees hang on. A minute later, it’s Basso, König, Peraud & Pozzovivo just being ahead of the pack.
6km -
i1326.photobucket.com/albums/u660/jesleyh/EPIC%20Reports/Trentino_516_zpsb407fb3e.jpg
Purito is still just a bit ahead, but he looks a bit tired. Barguil is the only one getting a bit close to the big 3, the former breakaway members all dropped. The AG2R group is still ahead of the pack, and also Duarte(COL) attacked from the small peloton.
5500m -
i1326.photobucket.com/albums/u660/jesleyh/EPIC%20Reports/Trentino_517_zpsac0c8836.jpg
More guys escaped from the peloton. Intxausti(MOV) & Duarte(COL) are at the front, and a group with Evans(BMC), De las Campos(EUS), Pellizotti(AND), Rogers(SAX) & Bardet(ALM) are the other 5 that got a gap.
5000m -
i1326.photobucket.com/albums/u660/jesleyh/EPIC%20Reports/Trentino_518_zps5cdf9089.jpg
While we just passed the 5km banner, it might be a good idea to take a look at the current situation:
Leader: Rodriguez
0’10: Nibali & Contador
0’50: Barguil
1’45: König, Peraud, Pozzovivo, Cardoso, Basso, Intxausti, Rosa
2’20: Evans, Pellizotti, Duarte, De las Campos, Rogers, Bardet.
3’30: Reduced peloton.

4000m -
i1326.photobucket.com/albums/u660/jesleyh/EPIC%20Reports/Trentino_519_zps2e0db1a2.jpg
Purito is still a little bit ahead. Barguil is a minute behind the big 3, and another 50 seconds behind, there’s the group of 5. Cardoso dropped out of it.
Evans and Pellizotti are trying to bridge the gap to group AG2R.
3000m -
i1326.photobucket.com/albums/u660/jesleyh/EPIC%20Reports/Trentino_520_zps02cea2f0.jpg
Nibali attacks, Contador counters. The gap to Purito is bridged instantly, but they do not get further than that. Pozzovivo dropped out of the group behind, and Evans reached him.
2000m -
i1326.photobucket.com/albums/u660/jesleyh/EPIC%20Reports/Trentino_521_zps0d65140a.jpg
Nibali leading the big 3. Purito has to do something soon, if he wants to win the GC. Contador looking a bit tired, but he might be faking it of course.
1000m -
i1326.photobucket.com/albums/u660/jesleyh/EPIC%20Reports/Trentino_522_zpsd236b168.jpg
Nothing happening, Purito should’ve attacked. It’s going to be a sprint on the summit.
600m -
i1326.photobucket.com/albums/u660/jesleyh/EPIC%20Reports/Trentino_523_zpsda3b9334.jpg
Purito already passed Nibali. Has he got enough energy to make it to the line?
Finish -
i1326.photobucket.com/albums/u660/jesleyh/EPIC%20Reports/Trentino_524_zpsc751c9d5.jpg
Yeah! Purito takes it on the line. No gap though, which means Nibali takes the GC!
i1326.photobucket.com/albums/u660/jesleyh/EPIC%20Reports/Trentino_525_zpsb1fc77e5.jpg
Barguil comfortably takes 4th, on 2’30 though. He’s not a threat for the GC though, but still, a great ride!
i1326.photobucket.com/albums/u660/jesleyh/EPIC%20Reports/Trentino_526_zps01cbb73e.jpg
On a bit more than 3 minutes, König takes 5 in a sprint of four, outsprinting Basso(wow, he outsprinted Basso), Intxausti and Peraud.
i1326.photobucket.com/albums/u660/jesleyh/EPIC%20Reports/Trentino_51_zpsc05945ce.jpg
A minute later, Pozzovivo pips out Evans for 9th, and next up is a group with Pellizotti, Rogers, Duarte & Bardet.
So, Nibali takes the GC, in front of Purito & Contador. König(on 7 minutes!) takes 4th, with Intxausti 5th. Basso managed to sneak into the Top 10 after all.
Also, Nibali takes the points jersey, and Purito at least takes the KoM.

Thank you for taking over Jes. Great reports, but glad I didn't turn up with Belkin in this strong field Grin
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Nice to see my #4 in such a good form. I really can safe race days for my 3 top options because of that Wink
Very consistant ride from Intxausti over all stages Smile

Nice report again Smile Quite an interesting stage - massive gaps behind the big three both on the stage and in particular overall - those look like time gaps from a GT!
Although we failed a goal, not too disappointed I think was always odds-on to come 3rd.

Great battle between the big 3! Purito at least took a stage now. Congrats to Astana and Nibali for the win.

Another goal failed. Evans just makes me yawn. Such a shame for Nerz, he was having another good race.

Well Rosa tried hard in the break but unfortunately did not have it in him today. I think that Pellizotti did not want to attack because of Rosa which is extremely annoying as he has moved down to 8th in the GC which means a failed goal Sad. A good effort from the team though. Looking forward to the Giro.
