I am, perhaps unsurprisingly, excited.

Indeed, preety much he chose the perfect team. Only Hofland at Belkin for sprints so he'll lead in most of his races, plus nice learning curve with Sep in the team, and ability to lead in smaller classics like he did at TopSport.

Is Stölting being shut down or what?
Besides, I don't see him fitting in there really well, but Cult signed kind of everybody for next season. We'll see how it turns out for them.

Sparebanken Sør has signed four new riders and probably completed their roster for 2014 (don't hope so, as it looks weak.
Vegard Robinson Bugge is arriving from Joker, and will most likely be the overall team leader with both Enger, Hoem and Lunke leaving. He has power for sure, and I think he can do well.
Herman Dahl was the fastest sprinter in Norway this year. If he gets enough power to keep with the peloton to the sprint on sprint stages, he will surely get some results; but he is not on that level yet (a bit like the young Guardini)
Trond Håkon Trondsen is also a fast man, who have performed ok in sprints in eastern europe this year, but haven't performed a single shit in Norway. Even if he have had better results this year, I still regard him as a lead-out for Røinås, eventually Dahl.
Carl Fredrik Hagen is a big questionmark really. He is an mtb-rider, with almost no experience on the road, so it is difficult to know how he can do. Looks to me as the typical Rujano-man (50 flat, 65 MO in PCM). Today I regard him as just outside of the top 5 climbers in Norway (Nordhaug, Hoem, Eiking, Løvik, Lunke) but I guess he will have the usual positioning problems the first season. Maybe in a few years.
All in all no riders with huge potential has arrived, but it will surely rise the potential of the overall team. Still, without their four biggest names next season, they will have big problems winning races. I really hope some of the weaker riders on the team (Kaggestad!!, Hodnebrog, Larsen) will pull out of the team, to make room for some more. |

In certain places on the internet, I've seen for a few weeks now that Fabio Aru has been linked with Sky, just rumour or is there any truth in this? |

Aru is definitely not moving anywhere this year, under contract. However there are rumors he could be off next year, but who knows.
Niemiec sings 2 year extension.

Are LottoNL going to be Wold Tour next year?
Cause their transfers are far from impressive and they might be one of the weakest teams in the WT. Two big riders have left the team, plus a few other good ones and no replacement has been brought in.

Oh yes, most teams are scaling down already ahead of 2016 maximum of 23 riders per team. And there are poorer looking teams in WT anyway,
And their team is still not bad. Kelderman developing, Gesink back into decent form it looks, Ten Dam reliable GC ridder, Vanmarcke capable of winning monuments, and Markus, Asbroeck and Hofland as decent sprinters.

Didn't know about the 23 riders rule as I don't follow these news very closely nowadays.
You're right, those are good riders but except Vanmarcke, I don't see any of them brining in big wins. Or, maybe I'm just used with the old Rabobank days...

Kelderman will probably get a few top-10 (and possibly top-5s as well) in WT races. I dont see Ten Dam having a Tour like this again as he is getting older, I dont see many points there. Gesink will probably get a few top-10 and good placements in hilly classics if he has a good season. Sepp will need to produce big time in order for them not to suck the bottom
What you just said can basically be said for every team in the World Tour. Talentwise (as in talent capable of producing results at the WT) they are indeed one of the worst, if not the worst team imo. |
