For some reason I gave myself a top 10 goal here, but it will be hard with this lineup. And if Gilbert wins, we can probalby kiss our third place goodbye as well

Top 3 Hard Gaol here in Lombardy.
Hoping Pellizotti can get away unnoticed with an attack closing to the finish or a successful breakaway from the likes of Rubiano or similar.

Nope not me, that you have to blame Ollfardh for, as it's him that does the Countered Goals

You both (ollfardh as well) must have been really drunk for these goals, they're just ridicules.

So this is why no goals are ever reasonable.

A break of 11 formed straight away with little resistance from the peloton, the break doesn't consist of anyone the main teams will be worried about. Break consists of Tankink (BEL), Rosa (AND), Gracia (EUS), Burton (ARG), Ratto (CAN), Hansen (LTB), Mucelli (BAR), Garzelli (VIN), Cattaneo (LAM), Ista (IAM) and Kroon (SAX)
Many different teams come to the front at the start to contain the break a little. Lots of teams interested in a good result or a win today.
On the lower slopes of the first climb the break have built up a lead of over 10 minutes. The climb is long and is steep in some areas it will be interesting how the non-climbers of the break will handle the situation.
The helicopter catches the peloton on the descent
On the steeper sections of climb the roads narrow and Sky and Astana work to apply some pressure on the peloton
It works to some extent, Valverde (MOV) and Albasini (OGE) are caught in a second group caused over the peak into the descent but they are able to relay back in a short amount of time. Is Valverde working for Costa today?. The break only have 3 minutes on the peloton.
Spilak hits the front hard and takes Purito with him, only Gilbert can follow them and they quickly get a gap on the peleton.
However they decide not to pursue and allow themselves to be caught. The break see the peloton quickly approaching and up the pace, Rosa decides to make the attack and some of the escapees are out the back.
Purito attacks and joins breakaway riders Ratto and Garcia on the descent of the third climb, the peloton don't seem to be too worried with a group of Hansen, Garzelli, Tankink, Burton Cattaneo around 90 seconds in front. The leader of the race Rosa holds the group of 5 by 20 seconds.
All but Rosa are caught on the flat roads before the 4th climb. They decided to sit up and see how long they can hold onto this group for.
An elite group have formed quickly with under 10km to go including, Uran (SKY), Purito (KAT), Horner (RLT), Nibali, Spilak (KAT), Contador (SAX), Martin (GRS), Gilbert (BMC), Rosa is able to hang on
On the run down to the finish and group of 6 are in pursuit in joining the front pack including, De Gendt (VCD), Mollema (BEL), Sagan (CAN), Sanchez (EUS), Henao (SKY) and Betancur (ALM). They have 57 seconds to make up.
And with just over 1km to go they just about bridge the gap in the knick of time and a group of 16 open up the sprint for the victory.
Uran gets to the front after Contador's early sprint from the front with Costa and Gilbert either side. Sagan was caught in the second group and seems to tire in the final metres
It's incredibly close! No one knows who crossed the line first and the replay will have to be watched. Neither Uran or Gilbert celebrate as they look across at each other to discuss who crossed first.

Great report and great race. If i see correct, 13 different teams rider in the first 13 places. Awesome. Great race by the team and by Uran. Its unlucky to miss a hard goal with one place
(Ollfardh, something to give coming close to a goal? )

Nice podium. I missed the part where Costa got into the front group so I was surprised seeing him in the sprint for the win.
The strong line-up of our team did not really paid of as our team stayed too anonymous
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Nice podium. I missed the part where Costa got into the front group so I was surprised seeing him in the sprint for the win.
The strong line-up of our team did not really paid of as our team stayed too anonymous
Costa must of joined a few hundred metres later on the 10km to go banner, must of missed that when watching the race, sorry thats quite a bad error. |

No problem. I looked at the screens and there wasnt a Costa either so it was just a surprise. But without that the report was quite good (and the preview cancels it out as it was superb!)
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!
