That's just not true. Wiggins lost this Giro at the Time Trial. Way before he got ill.
Maybe he is not as doped as in the Tour. But it is now clear which products Wiggins used to lose all that weight to begin with. Ask Ubeto.
I am certainly not claiming that Wiggins lost this race due to his illness. However it would have been nice to see him beaten in the final week decisively.
Evans vs Nibali vs climbers is story now.

100th career win for Cav, as it seems. Not bad ^^
Does he only have 100 victories? I thought he had a lot more already. So he has less victories than Greipel who celebrated his 100th victory in TDU this year.
Boonen and Petachi also have more victories but their careers started way earlier.
I am also a bit surprised it is "only" 100th victory, i think not caring about shit small races is the reason for it. Sagan has almost 50 already btw.

still stupid they let uran wait earlier in the giro. He could've been a close threat to Nibali.. now he isn't.. thanks sky
this is the 2nd or 3rd time they kept so rigidly to "plan A" that plan B either failed or is too late
I am quite happy they keep messing up year after year. Go home Wiggo, you will not be missed, you can stay there forever.

No Wiggins and no Hesjedal. Giro organization won't like to see it. |

If their really sick good, but if they abandon just for the sake of not supporting their teammates then that's sad.. |

Wiggins was dropped on a flat by his teammates.
I think it's obvious he's quite sick, and with this weather, there's no point continuing. Hesjedal made the right choice too.

At least gives someone like Hesjedal time to salvage something from his season by reworking his schedule. |

It's disappointing but almost certainly the right decision. Riding sick in the rain through 254km could have serious implications for their health.
Real shame for Nibali too as he was looking strong enough to beat them fair and square and I'm sure he would have preferred to do so. |

He's been saying all week that he'd attack today. Said the same this morning, adding that he felt great. So yeah, just have to hope that Cavendish isn't going for a stage win today |

If any of the sprinters can get through the bumps today they deserve it - 10km at 5% after 2 weeks is doable but no mean feat.
Confused that Bouhani went home before today as thought he'd have as good a chance of anyone in making it for a bunch sprint probably minus Cav too :/ |

Can't wait 'til the interview where Wiggo declares he'll be aiming at the Tour now.
Better keep an eye on Michelle Cound's Twitter account. |

Hesjedal and Wiggins abandoning makews this Giro a 10 times more likely win for Nibali. (after they got sick I mean of course).

Good decision. No point waiting now. He can defend TdF now. |

Daniel Lloyd, who is reporting this race, said that there have been massive crosswinds all day and the peloton is really pushing it. The bunch has already split once (and the dropped group returned) and might be on the verge of doing it again.

Guess who crashed? Yep, Blanco (Bobridge). He came down with Le Bon, but they seem to be OK. |

Wiggins destroying team harmony is the best chance of Froome not winning the Tour (and therefore Sky since god knows Wiggins himself never had a hope in hell)
