Is there a limit to how many FA's you can buy? Thought I read it somewhere but can't find it. |

In Bikex's Excel DB some of the ages are definitely incorrect because the oldest Custom riders are 25 when they should be 24?

All ages are 1 too much in Bikex "db", as mentioned on the last page iirc

Lol well there goes three of the drafted riders already.
Interesting tactic - use the draft to pick up a rider a Protour team may want and then trade. Wish I had thought of it, though does seem a bit gamey to me.
Still quite happy with JJ Haedo for myself

Don't think that it is gamey. Many teams follow a stricter nation focus and there were quite a few countries without useful riders in the draft.
If you'd wanted a strict Spanish focus then you'd have the chance of either draft Barbero, Garate or Erviti or you could have drafted Arredondo and trade him for a quality spanish rider like LLS or one of my climbers.
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Well it was clear from the off that Euskatel were going to want to be Spanish. So Caja Rural had little option but to draft in a decent rider. My god I had first draft pick, I may as well go for one of the better riders and why shouldn't I keep him. No doubt some protour team would like to try and prise him away for some inferior Spanish rider such as LLS or another climber.
Arredondo has a choice whether to be a domestique or leader - I think he would prefer to be a leader. I agree me going into South America for riders is gamey. But persuading a rider to sign a contract via the draft and then immediately swapping for another rider is also gamey to me. In particular it is a way for a protour team to get a draft pick without actually having a draft pick.
Anyway this is a game after all - just thought I would mention it. Not sure what that was what Olly had in mind for drafted riders.

Tbh I thought the exact same thing when I did send my first Draft Picks in Round 1 and chose the one I could use, instead of the rider I could've sold. If I'd knew that I was probably just gonna get Henao, sell him for 40k and now I have double budget, but to be fair I do prefer being realistic, than signing a rider I really just gonna misuse xD

For me the first draft pick should I have only drafted riders I wanted to keep due to my strictly Basque focus would have been Erviti. So being at the lower end of the draft would have given me no advantage and it would have been near impossible for me to actually strenghten my team is most want a decent irder in exchange for a decent rider - very few strictly cash deals.
So I picked a rider I knew would bring me closer to actually getting someone I wanted badly. Gamey perhaps, but this is a game after all

Caja going for South American riders isn't all that gamey to me. There's just no way a strict nation focus is going to work unless you're from one of the really big cycling countries anyway, so long as they don't have many teams. So pretty impossible. Come to think of it, how will nation focus points work? Because I think I've gotten together a fairly good bunch of riders nation-wise, but they're not necessarily from the US. Will that be taken in to account or will strictly just riders from the one nation be counted?

Maybe it is, but so is the whole system of trading riders who may not want to switch to their new teams. The Cort-Morton deal was a little bit different too.
I had a similar issue to knockout; I wasn't sure who to draft due to a small Australian talent pool in the FA list. I had a bit of money but no riders that anyone wanted, except for the 1st draft pick. Since that was basically a guarantee to get your most wanted FA signing (excluding superstars), it was a clever move from Dippofix that worked well for both of us in the end.
