I guess this weekend confirms that I just don't like cobbles. IRL I do, but in games it doesn't work out for me. Obviously with Vanmarcke out, I already had a bad start to the weekend, but none of the guys doing anything really hurts. At least, if I understood the rules correctly, Stybar should get some points for being Jakobsen's teammate, right?
Btw, pretty sick result for Arkéa, with 3 in the Top 7!
Obviously really pleased - and surprised - by Vingegaard's win in France, after having made no impact yesterday. Not bad for a R10 pick
Barguil with another solid Top 10, while I definitely should have picked Rota over Schmid. Will be fixed for next time I guess

Probably the biggest disadvantage was R1, and then the first free-pick round (don't remember which one). But tbh, I'd always take the first pick in R2 over R1, given the criteria. You couldn't care less about being last in R3, given that there was no other Italian team, and R4 was another big deal for you. I do think being in 10th position was better or at least equally good than P1 in this draft Which I don't think is a bad thing, as it opens some nice options for most managers - but maybe it would be even better to re-draw the drafting order every 2nd round. Those in P4-7 never got a shot at the really big guns - but well, that's the game And if I can get a win from a R10 pick, I guess there were enough quality picks available for everyone

These late startlists are killing me. Strade Bianche doesn't even have predicted starters for most teams on PCS
RIP Exxon Duke, David Veilleux, Double Feature, and Monster Energy

A better day for me, Hofstetter with a podium and Ala also showed up. Rankings and Block 2 preview should be up tomorrow. Strade startlist is annoying indeed, especialy as GP Monseré is close to complete, let's hope for a few more names tomorrow.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Roglic/Latour in the French double classic were rather poor, which on those profiles and early season must have been kind of expected.
Pasqualon on the other hand was a nice surprise in Belgium with Warlop as well doing fairly well.
Unfortunately missed out of Clarke in Omloop due to later startlist entry. |

Block 1 results
The question was, focus on the WT race or look at all the smaller races as well. The Pacifiers answered it by going all in on Omloop and it payed off, 246 points there (and no where else). The Hornets liked a more split approach, and it got them second place and the only team to get 6 of their riders on the scoreboard. The Hussars come in 3rd, although their manager might question his decision to drop Ayuso now.
Following closely are the Paladins, the Bananas, the Bombers and the Fainthearts. A rough start for the Roughnecks, only scoring well in Kuurne. Next up are the Bald Beagles with a very unlucky start to their season. Finaly the Lemmings really struggled to get points, they have to pray for a swift return for Mathieu.

The Italian Job
1/03/2022 Le Samyn CT2
2/03/2022 Trofeo Laigueglia CT1
5/03/2022 Strade Bianchi WT1
6/03/2022 GP Monsére CT2
After the opening weekend, we now get 4 races on different days, meaning riders could in theory ride all of them. Again there is one bigger race, the Strade Bianchi with 3 smaller races outside of the world tour. Strade Bianchi has had different rider types win in the past, so there probably one of your guys that could win it. But then there are the smaller races, will you find any chances there?
Deadline tuesday 01/03 at noon normal europe time. I know the startlists of both Italian races are very empty at the moment, but unfortunately that's something out of my control. If you make changes to your startlist, please give me another list of 8 names instead of "replace X by Y". It would also help me if you give the full names of the riders as they appeared in the draft.

Paladins block 2:
Philippe Gilbert
Hugo Hofstetter
Julian Alaphilippe
Edward Theuns
Florian Vermeersch
Dylan Teuns
Alexander Kristoff
Mark Padun
I'm going blind on the last 3 and probably will replace Theuns as well given the chance. Darn Italians, fill up your startlists!

Maybe next time when we have 5 days between the first and the last race in a block, we could have a special rule so that we could optionally leave 2 (or any other number) spots empty to fill them later, when startlists are better filled. It's OK to submit 8 names for a weekend, although the start lists for Sunday aren't definitive on Saturday either. But it's not so funny to line up riders and just hope they'll actually show up. It's obviously the same issue for everyone, and clearly not Ollfardh's fault, but it's still not very satisfying.
But then, well, it's all just a game So I'll come up with a line-up by tomorrow morning I hope ^^

Well the thing is there are already near-complete startlists of GP Monseré and Paris-Nice, while we only have a few names for Trofeo Laigueglia which is in two days. It really seems to be about the Italian races for some reason.

Added Van Der Sande to the list in the faint hope of him attending and a teammate scoring a podium. Just noticed Bol won't be there, so put Carlos Rodriguez in his place, he might be the Ineos surprise.
Victor Campenaerts
Alessandro Covi
Sergio Higuita
Tadej Pogacar
Brent Van Moer
Ivan Garcia Cortina
Carlos Rodriguez
Tosh Van der Sande
