Yeah, it seems the Dutch have no problem working together when needed. Can't say if Belgium will do the same at this point.
Pauwels with a great comeback, but his starts are horrible this year. No idea why that's happening, but he's ruining his chances of winning if he has to close down a gap each time.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

VDP wins again! Beautiful race.
Too bad for Van Aert, such bad luck |

Awesome race today, yet that dutch alliance is very worrisome. That last manoeuvre by Van der Poel, just wow!

What a show by MvdP. First DAT jump on the bridge. I think he jumped 1,5 meters high! Then the way he overtook Pauwels in the last lap: FAN-TAS-TIC!
He had a little bit of luck that LvdH made that mistake, 'cause Pauwels looked like he was the strongest. But what a battle in the last lap.
Bad luck for Van Aert today as he looked stronger than yesterday. Broken derailleur AND he got hit by his teammate Merlier. Merlier not being the best teammate lately, because yesterday he took some WC-points from Van Aert by beating him in the sprint.

Van Aert and van der Haar both complaining about the Azencross route in Loenhout, equiped with some 'BMX obstacles'. Probably referring to several moats within each of the laps.
Really sad weather hasn't been rainy at all lately, Loenhoet usually is one of the most exciting crosses of the season. |

The washboard has been there since forever. Not sure why they are complaining

Looks like crossers are adapting some of moaning the roadies are famous for.

Not sure it's about the (of course traditional ) washboard, but setting this aside there are still some other trenches the women need to get off for in order to cross them.
See Meeusen jumping over it in the picture below:
Don't know why they're complaining either. Can't say these obstacles come out of nowhere |

Seems like it are the guys that will have to go off their bikes to take these obstacles that are complaining. Guys like VDP and Meeusen will have a big advantage jumping over some of those, especially on a dry and fast course.

A more boring cross today, but good to see Tom Meeusen winning after his crap 2015 year.

Here's a great photo story about the Dubau twins, who finished 3rd and 4th at U23 France cyclo-cross championships, behind Clément Russo et Victor Koretzky https://thomasmah...u-brothers

Top favourite Eli Iserbyt crashes out the Belgian U23 NC. There was a mass crash at the start, that even led to a restart, pretty much unseen in a championship.

Dominant win by MvdP in France.
The cyclocross peloton looks a lot uglier BTW. Seriously what were they thinking at Vastgoedservice and Sunweb? Really ugly jersies.

Two more weeks to form a coalition against VDP.

Disagree about the jerseys. There was way too much black before new year. Like it with all these colours.

Belgian team for the World Championships:
Van Aert
Pauwels
Nys
Meeusen
Sweeck (Laurens)
Vanthourenhout (Michael)
Merlier (7th men if Van Aert wins the world cup)
First time in a very long time there will be another team better.

Van der Poel is flying in Hoogerheide. Halfway he is already half a minute ahead of Van Aert and about a minute ahead of everybody else. |
