True, but it makes no sense for Jakob to use all of his energy being mad at van Avermaet. If he wants to go, then go. If not stop. Don't blame the other guys... 2nd place would be amazing for Jakob, so it doesn't even matter if he drags van Avermaet to victory.
Now he just ends up wasting energy, letting himself get caught just before Cauberg, and then he will end up in something like 30-40th overall.

It was the only chance the could win anyways. He was insanely strong today tho since he was able to hold on and so was Van Avermaet, so 20/20 hindsight, still no reason why BMC played it the pussy way |

Disagree, I thought there were some interesting tactics there.
Really didn't know who was going to win until the very end - BMC did suck some fun out of it but there were numerous attacks in the last 40kms.
Pleased to see Gilbert and Matthews beaten really - and at last Quickstep
