Just looking through some of ammattipyoraily's data from this season: looks like climbing times are on the up for the 4th year in a row
So far we've had:
Valls beating mutant Froome's record in Oman
Contador/Froome respective freakshows in Andalucia
Skyborg 1-2 in Paris-Nice
Quintana doing nearly 6 W/kg on Terminillo IN A BLIZZARD
and now the fastest time up Arrate since Grandpa Horner five years ago
The GTs this year are going to be... interesting...
And compare that with some really naive comments in this thread.
Or cycling teams discovered alien materials, which make the bikes faster year by year.

Hvn't you heard? The wheels are now more round than ever before! And the frames are laced with Kryptonite for extra speed

Rodriguez is surely an old man now but still looks explosive and Kristoff is in the form of his life winning a proper cobbled race and doing good in a timetrial.
If Dan Moreno wins Liege I think people may get suspicous!! |

It's all Team Sky's fault everyone's doping nowadays. They revolutionized cycling with their marginal gains and advanced training programs. |

Sadly, this may be pretty much the case here.

Stage 5
Today's profile. Last chance for climbers to get some time before the TT. Strong breakaway.

Good news that Zaugg apparently is conscious and got brought to hospital now.
This really looked bad. |

1st and 3rd ascents just under 2km; 2nd ascent a little longer but a little shallower (a different way up)
