More dominance by Van Aert today. Unfortuantely his team won't let him ride the Worlds with the pro's.
Any news on Stybar and the Worlds?
Stybar is not doing Worlds, according to Lefevere last month. Also Van Aert will be able to make the decision for himself. His trainer is not favouring doing it in the elite category, but it's up to himself.
He has said he will think about following the Belgian Nationals next weekend.

I have to say he look maybe TOO good to my liking, with all i know about doping in cyclocross. Or we are just changing generations, but at least Van der Haar should be different level.

Are we on doping here, too?
Please don"t start with that until there is some evidence or something. Like Shonak said before, in cyclo-cross the races only last 1 hour, so it's possible to be better at an early age. Add a real talent (Sagan like but in the field) and a diminished field (Nys not so good, others not so talented) and you've got some domination.
Don't mistake talent for doping, please.

I don't know. Doping isn't just that much of use in CX than in road cycling. With the aspect of long-distance / stamina gone, a lot of doping is just redundant. Though I'm not sure about how closely they're tested. All I know, though, is that in this sport, you can never have the money to buy of positive test results, so with no doping cases in CX with testing, it means more than in road cycling, where a team of eg Armstrong could just buy it off. |

Are Meeusen and Wellens the only guys who have been recently under doping suspicion at one point, who are still active? Both got cleared, although that can mean little.
I wouldn't put my hand in the fire for any guy ever but frankly, Cyclo-Cross doesn't strike me to be infested with doping like MTB (but I follow MTB too little to really tell) or Road Racing. One could argue: Because the peloton is clean, a natural gifted rider like Van Aert makes his break-through this early on. I guess everbody knew that Van Aert and VDP would sooner or later mix up the peloton in serious manner. I just hadn't thought it'd be already in this season. They have been outstanding in their races alreadyin the past years and mixed it up with the pros when they had their chance to do so last year. Seeing as how Juniors, U23 and Pros oftentimes ride the same course, I imagine that the jump from one level to the other is much easier, than in road cycling for example. I doubt he could ever reach similiar heights in road racing, like ever. Add to that the diminished field and Van Aert's lighter schedule... Well, like I said, I'm excited to see Van Aert's performance next year. It may put things into perspective
Well, at least Nys survived the Rabobank blow-out with a white vest. And considering the guy has been good back then and he's still very good up to now, you shouldn't be too quick to point his finger at him.

Will be watching the results when they come, too
Though Nys makes an excellent point here. Technicality is so important, you can't get there with doping. Of course, if someone was to use doping, they would be completely in the wrong, despite their technicality, but when I see how Van der Poel or Nys decide a race more than once really on their steering skills just as much as their engine... |

Another nice (solo) win by VDP in Leuven. Meeusen outsprints Pauwels and Sweeck. The latter with a great solo performance in the first few laps, even completely riding a part at one time where all others had to dismount at one point. Certainly another talent that shines very bright by now in the elite ranks.

Doping can help, though. Remember the Szczepaniak brothers... |

Currently watching the Czech NC and it is battle of the talents, with Nipl and Toupalik in the first group, followed by Boros. Go Toupalik!

18years old Toupalik dropped Nipl and really has won the Czech NC.
Very muddy and windy race with many DNFs including Bina and Simunek. So young guns had to battle for it. First two guys are U23 and Boros just left that category this year.
1. Adam ŤoupalÃk
2. Vojtěch Nipl
3. Michal Boroš

Seems like you were right Avin; this guy is definitely worth following and to watch out for.
What was up with Bina and Simunek? DNF because of young guns were much better?

Gone to watch the italian cx nc in Fasano, that's 25 mins from where I live. Sorry i couldnt take pics, highlight was the juniors race, rest of them were just solos, even though i must say that Fontana's domination in the elites was spectacular
