Nice one Roturn! And Oleg of course too.

Stylish jersey, liking it!

Must be because of the beer lady.
Actually I wanted it being more a one colour jersey instead of a half-half one as in previous years. So things like the hills, trees or the lady were dropped from the shirt. |

The Rothaus lady will not be forgotten
Spoiler I btw. just found a new (half) German beer brand, I have never heard about. Blue sponsor colour and another beer lady on the logo.
Should have found earlier.

Nice jersey! I'm a fan of the all blue kit, it makes it stand out and gives a stronger identity.
Unfortunately it bares resemblance to the BoI jersey I just made for Dippo, but he hasn't changed it yet.

Well as mainly blue colour, I was quite expecting to be similar to 1-2 jerseys in PCT.
That said, it would have been worse with a white/blue jersey I think.
Should still be decently seen just like the BoI one I think. |

Fighting against relegation all season long and then losing it incredibly close was tough for the team even though it was never expected to be an easy PT debut season. So in the end due to the thrilling loss, it was harder to live with for many riders as disappointment was high for many.
The team though is pretty young and has a great core to fight for immediate return onto the highest level, which is the obvious goal for the 2015 season: Being one of the top5 PCT teams.
- What can we expect for 2015?
Surely a more successful season as 2014. We expect to take more stage wins, more podiums and in best case out first ever stage race win since debuting in 2012.
Secured riders like Keizer, Schädlich, Boom or Vanmarcke could deliver this surely. And also unsecured Luis Leon Sanchez Gil would be a high bet for a race win. His future though depends on the transfer period as it`s a 50/50 decision at the moment. The team knows, what to expect from him and he would be a big time factor for promotion after an excellent PT season. But there are FA`s around, that could need the wage of the Spaniard.
- Rider to look for in 2015:
The team got some maxed talents this season. First obviously the two sprinters Giacomo Nizzolo and Alexander Krieger. Both will aim their first ever stage win even though the sprinter field was very tough in last years PCT and so they know, it`s far from being guaranteed. Other riders to watch are Björn Thuau and Davide Villella. Both excellent puncheurs, who are supposed to be in as many breakaways as possible. This also counts for Thomas Koep in the more mountaineous stages.
A rider to eventually get the chance to lead the team for the first time (but Avenir) in some races is Daan Olivier. You can`t expect the biggest things from him yet but he surely wants 1-2 GC Top10`s already.
And last but not least watch out for Kristian Sbaragli. He had lots of outstanding and above average results in his PT year and being stronger now, he could surprise again despite being a support guy mainly.
- What to expect by the remaining riders?
First there is German time trial beast Lucas Schädlich. PCT is suiting him a lot more and he aims a stage win at least as also 2-3 good GC results in flat races including a time trial. Sep Vanmarcke and Sven Nooytens are other riders that are expected to be a strong duo in the cobbled races. Winning them could be hard with teams like Bpost around. But after good performances in the PT cobbled races we surely can expect them to be there again. Our two time trials Tom Dumoulin and Frederik Frison are expected to step up a bit to get more chances in 2015. First is maxed and is going for good results while 2nd proved with the U23 RR World Championship win that he is ready for bigger things.
- What to do with Maximillian Schachmann?
Definitely the toughest issue. It was said that relegation could mean, he has to go. Winning the German RR NC though is a big plus for him to get a new contract. The team considers to keep him now despite the fact that he is probably not being maxed out then. But is this also what the rider wants? So far he was getting most race days on loan deals and was barely riding for the team. Plus the knowledge, that maxing him is very, very ambitious and most likely won`t work, could be another factor for him to look for a PT team to take him on full contract. But are there PT teams around that are willing to take him? Most likely is to see him signing a new contract first and then he is checking options in the transfer period.
- Thanks to other teams:
The team likes to thanks all managers, that were involved in loan deals over the season. This includes the CT teams ONCE (Schachmann) and Evonik (Grand, Edmondson) but also teams, who gave us some depths with riders loaning into our team. Biggest thank obviously to La Vie Claire (Guardini) for sending us a strong sprinter to lead us in 2014. But also Puma (Bongiorno) and Jaguar (Reguigui) gave us some depth and important climbing support.
We are happy that all loans in both directions turned out successful and are looking forward for future chats with other teams.
- Thanks to leaving riders:
First to name must be Jose Angel Gomez Marchante. The Spanish veteran joined our team late in the transfer period as 3rd or 4th option only. But the experienced Spaniard did above expectations actually being one of of top scoring guys in his (probably) last PT appearance. Now he is leaving the team to check his FA value.
Same goes for Allessandro Ballan, who wants to get some more results and this way could imagine to ride for a CT team to lead them in some races. But also riding on a higher level as road captain is not impossible.
Anthony Roux is leaving for sure. He though not via FA but on the transfer market. Several teams seem to have high interest and he is leaving in good with us.
Support riders Müller and De Vries will have to check their FA value next year after helping out our TTT ambitions in PT.
- Transfer targets?
I tell you there are a few. If you had hoped to get some names, I must disappoint you here. You will see as soon as I throw my money away during transfers (Hopefully not Vantomme style though). |

This might be the last 2014 HQ update as soon I might open the 2015 HQ (pre transfers at least).
But for now more news regarding the 2014 season.
Due to Maximillian Schachmann winning the German National Championship on the road and Martijn Keizer taking the ITT crown in the Netherlands, the team obviously needed two more jerseys.
We are happy to announce that OlegTinkov also designed those two jerseys.
All credit and lots of thanks to Oleg. |
