Well, the only way to avoid a Ewan-Demare clash is to always have you in a different division than Puma...or to simply buy Ewan.

Panayotov could come to Ukraine to help you cut your wages... Would be an excellent domestique for Topchanyuk

@Atlantius - It's not really too different to our one this season or last season. The problem in CT could be an overall too weak peloton leading to many breakaways in situations where Thomas could dominte. I'm hoping we might get lucky and not have to face Maes or Steegmans or similar this time around.
@Cio - Come along with an offer and we can talk. Demare has a significant head start though so it's gonna be a good few years before that battle starts.
@fjhoekie - Hopefully not. Petar shouldn't be too tricky to get into cap and he will be very good in the CT. Plus you're supposed to be in the same situation as me

@jph - Well it was Sarmiento + Bardet so i don't feel bad about it, and Sarmiento was an NC. I'm only cutting Cayetano to move more towards my focus regions or home-grown talents.
@Scorchio - Every rider has their price, even someone like Grashev or Robov. If you want him that bad you better come and get him

The Great Big 100% Win Record Post
National Championships are underway! So far we have had riders take part in one Road Race and one Time Trial.... and we them both! That's a 100% NC record (for now). Though it must be clarrified it was the Bulgarian Nationals were B3B riders made up the entire field, making it impossible to lose.
Mihaylov, Stoenchev and Hristov still put something of a show for the finish. The breakaway trio sprinting together for the win, with Nikolay taking his second NC title! Nikolay then did the double in the ITT confirming his status as Bulgarias best cyclist which he repeats from last nationals.
We greatly look forwards to the other national championships for our riders. Expectations are low because the races are such a lottery, but we hold out hope of another couple of titles. Our best bets will be the Luxembourg RR, Colombian RR or UK RR.

The Great Big Highlights Post
Very simple this one. A nice quick run through of what we view as out Top5 moments of the Boeing-Bulgaria season. Yes we did have 5, in fact we had more than five so unlike last season i had to actually make decisions!
5) Tour of Vancouver
For the second season in a row the Tour of Vancouver was kind to the team. Just up the road from our HQ it's very much a "home" race to us and we like to give it a real attack. We started well with some Stage Top10's but really our race came to life, again, via a breakaway.
Gorka Izaggire used his skills expertly to penetrate the breakaway on Stage 5. The tough rolling route allowed him to power home to take a big stage win in front of a roaring crowd. A big HC stage win in our "home" race, but also taking us beyond our total of stage wins from our entire debut season!
4) Tour of America
The massive Grand Tour style event was undersubscribed this year and gave us a big opportunity to score some vital points. Alas Georgiev fell far short in the GC department we did have a duo of stage wins to celebrate over the penultimate weekend.
Robov kicked it off with a classic breakaway win on Stage 11, his second of the season. This matched up to Bucciero's win in 2013, but also took us over double our wins in that 2013 season.
Capitalising on the good vibes Fritsch finished 4th on stage 12. Skip the TT. Caleb Ewan decided to show why he cost £400k and took his first ever pro win on Stage 14. It was a brilliant finish from the talented sprinter. An affirmation of his talents, he is sure to get many more wins in the future.
3) National Championships
Still on-going we have representitives heading to the UK. However already Nationals season has delivered to us in a big way. We had 100% representation in the Bulgarian NC's for the second time guaranteeing 2 NC titles. Nikolay Mihaylov played things cool to win the Road Race before doing the double in the Time Trial.
Matthew Lloyd represented strongly in Australia, finishing on the podium! But it was Sven Fritsch that stole much of the gory winning the Luxembourg Road Race away from PT Vesuvio. 3 Titles secured is an increase on last season.
2) Vuelta al Tachira
It might have been one of our first events but Tachira really was a season highlight. Coming off a torid race in Australia we needed a real boost to get our season underway and boy did th team deliver. We had a man in the breakaway on every single road stage!
On top of that Momchil Robov announced himself to the world by winning Stage 5. Confirmation of our faith in Bulgarian talents. Matthew Lloyd wasn't to be outdone and went on to win Stage 7 in fine style. 2 wins our second race! Already eqaul to our tally from the 2013 season.
The team went from strength to strength in the race. Gorka finished in the Top10 GC and we won the Team Competition. One of our biggest scoring races, it boosted our season hugely. Without this race things would have been very different. It turned us from fighting against last place to fighting for survival.
1) Wanze - Arenberg
That fight for survival reached a peak in Wanze-Arenburg. The final HC cobbled classic of the season would become a season defining moment for the team. We'd slightly underperformed on the cobbles all things considered and we needed a big result to keep our season alive.
Geraint Thomas took matters into his own hands. Sprinting hadn't worked so he went on the attack hard and early. The other teams missed the moment to attack and G was free to bathe in the glory of an HC Classic win! Many many points put us right back into the fight for survival....
For about 2 minutes. Hornbach rode well to keep themselves safe and minimise the damage. But it was our first out-right race win and the first win for Thomas. A huge season defining moment. One we won't top for a while and one to savor for a long time to come.

The Great Big 2015 Post Part 3
Who's PCT? We're PCT! I said, who's PCT?! We're PCT!! I SAID, WHO'S PCT!! WE'RE PCT!!!!
Not that i ever had any real doubts about the outcome it was very much touch and go for a few weeks there. A thanks has to go out to the MGUCI and to the quality new applicants, as well our dogged determination and great season, which all came together to see Boeing-Bulgaria Bicycling pull off the almost unbelievable escape.
Gotta throw a shout-out to Mobil and Africa at the same time! We look forwards to continuing our direct rivalry with Mobil, third season of that, and we just love Africa.
But what does all this mean for the team? It means a guaranteed return to the Tour of Vancouver, which is now our official home race alongside the Bulgarian event. We get to take another tilt at the PCT level, this time having identified our big mistakes. Now we also get to go up against the PT teams in regular-season racing for the first time, very excited for that.
It's also time to take a quick re-think of our renewals and transfer policy. We had done some very vague thinking back in the season when we were still looking to survive, but now we can really focus.... and by focus i mean try to buy as many PNW riders as possible.
Definately Staying | | | | | Name | Key Stats | 2014 Wage | | Geraint Thomas | 79CB 74SP | 170k | | Geoffrey Soupe | 79SP 79AC | 60k | | Petar Panayotov | 78MO 72HL | 325k | | Martin Grashev | 75CB 72MO | 60k | | Caleb Ewan | 76SP 75AC | 400k | | Eros Capecchi | 74SP 70HL | 50k | | Simon Yates | 73HL 72SP | 125k | | Spas Gyurov | 73TT 70CB | 50k | | Romain Bardet | 72MO | 50k | | Momchil Robov | 69MO 69HL | 50k | | Valentin Stoenchev | 71TT | 50k | | Stanimir Cholakov | 73SP | 50k | | Isaac Bolivar | 70CB 69TT | 50k | | Will Routely | 74HL 70CB | 50k | | Georgi Georgiev | 74MO 70HL | 50k | | Sven Fritsch | 69HL | 50k | | Max Losch | 78FT 69SP | 50k | | Jamie Sparling | 74CB 78FT | 50k |
A few changes here. Panayotov, Ewan, Frtisch, Losch, Georgiev and Routely are all now guaranteed places in the team. Stoenchev also will be staying with us, no longer need a loan. That's 18 riders guaranteed contracts, and on 2014 wages would come to 1.74mil.
Transfer Listed | | | | | Name | Key Stats | 2014 Wage | | Matthew Lloyd | 76HL 73MO | 140k | | Gorka Izagirre | 75MO 70TT | 150k | | Cayetano Sarmiento | 76MO 76FT | 63.5k |
Some changes here as well. Most notably we will be looking to sell Matthew Lloyd and Gorka Izagirre! They were great riders for us, especially Lloyd, but we'd rather use money to land some PNW riders. That said for these two we are open to keeping them so offers would have to be good, when the time comes in transfers so don't get ahead of yourselves in posting/contact (right, that's my ass covered).
Sarmiento is still leaving the team. We see plenty of potential to sell him to a wide range of teams. He will be renews to be sold, not just released.
Released | | | | | Name | Key Stats | 2014 Wage | | Francesco Chicchi | 50SP | 50k | | Aleksandr Aleksiev | 69HL | 50k |
No changes here. Chicchi, the greatest sprinter of all time, makes way for the growth of Ewan. Aleksiev makes space for new Bulgarian/PNW talent, as he just can't match them anymore.
PT Loan | | | | | Name | Key Stats | 2014 Wage | | Stefan Hristov | 75CB | 50k |
Again no changes here. We will be pushing hard to get Stefan Hristov the PT Loan he needs to max out this season. A 75CB rider is a solid cobbles domestique, and for minimal wage. Plus it can't hurt to build a stronger relationship with a team as popular and influential as ours.
Let's just bring on the end of Nationals, we are done there, and rush into the rest of the off-season!

Good to see you up. You have a nice team there and with those improved riders you should stay better next season.
Soupe really looking interesting.
Imagine you would have a level 3 Ewan as well. |

Congrats to staying up there in PCT Manx, your team deserves that chance (as other two you mentioned) and you certainly will have good PCT quality squad. Good luck fro 2015!
And Hristov needs a PT loan you say? Well, i believe certain newly promoted team could use a cobbler from its own region.

@Roturn - Slightly annoying now we stay PCT but he'd still be worse than Soupe and still not strong enough to compete for any serious points at a PCT level. The added benefit of the wage difference between him at lvl2 and lvl3 will be a big help this year as well... So i'm ok with it.
@Avin - Got a bit of work to do on the strength but looking at some of those CT teams coming up in theory it should be an easy year to avoid relegation. However there is no better chance to pick up some great American focus riders so thinking of a risky off-season.
