With Sky announcing all climber line up for Giro, Wiggins looks like overwhelming favorite now. I can only see Nibali Chasing him all the way. As usual Sky will set high tempo to get Wiggins over last climb and he will deliver it in Time Trial. Cant see Hesjedal, Sacarponi, Evans being big threat. Moreno is in good form may be top 5.

Well, Sky team is insane again, but Astana has super climbing team too. Likes of Brajko, Kesiakoff, Tiralongo, Aru and Agnoli are not bad either. I think we can see like 3-4 men from both Sky and Astana in last 25 men groups or so. But probably rather five from Sky (wiggo, henao, uran, cataldo and Siutsou) in last ten riders left. Frown

Problem for Nibali is even though he can stick with Wiggins in mountains, but he will be left behind in Time Trial that too approximately 80kms of TT in Giro this year. May be he can try his luck on some descent like Tirreno-Adriatico this year.

Nibali will have to attack Wiggo for sure (descents especially, that is his style in the end). Key matchups could be between Astana and Sky domestiques, who will have to put the other team under pressure and get rid off their helpers. Unfortunately for my liking, Sky team is the strongest on paper. So i worry that scenario like Nibali attacking against pack led by Cataldo and Henao will happen and that leads to nothing against Wiggo.
I'll be back

It should be all against Sky. Otherwise I can see no way that Sky will be beaten.

Danilo Di Luca (37) has signed with Fantini Vini and will ride the Giro. His season will start at GP Larciano tomorrow.

Lotto

Bak, Bellemakers, De Greef, De Haes, Dockx, Hansen, Kaisen, Wellens en Willems.

Bak is a decent option in breaks. If De Haes survives until the end of Giro, he might be one of the better sprinters left to challenge for few stages there. Wellens debut GT as well. Other than that, not great team here.

Don't see a safe bet for the GC. De Greef might do well to grab a top 20 finish, while DeHaes might try to sneek into sprint finishe's and Bak and Wellens to win from breakaways?

So, first they signed Poljanski, but they didn`t register him ( "lack of money" ) but now they sign Di Luca...that`s nice...

Di Luca was signed back in december, but there's been a fight between the team and the sponsor over whether he could ride, so only now it's finally official

Saxo going all for Bennati then? Though I am curious to see how Sutherland fares in his first GT (if I recall?)

From the best climbers out there, Majka is out of shape, Pires is an incognita. I'd like the Portuguese to have a bit of freedom of his own, get on a right break or so, however, he hasn't been getting the results.

Boaro seems to be in good form at Romandie, so maybe he can get some nice result in TT for Saxo if this will last. They can join many breaks too.
