Nice report, but what i feared since i started playing PCM 12 is happening. Mountain stages AI gameplay totally suck this year.
Berard bringing five times all the attackers back like he was gaining marginal gains at Sky camp in the winter (Alakagom we know you are doing this somewhat).
And finally group of 46 riders coming to the finish together? That sucks imo...as said many times in pcm 12:general section, this game cannot create significant time gaps on mountain stages, especially those finishing with short downhill.
This depends a lot on the climb I think. I don`t know the exact % of this climb but it doesn`t look too hard. On stages with higher slopes attackers will easier open gaps and even after a downhill section groups won`t come together that easy. |

Yeah, that is true, still 46 people peloton after the hard mountain stage is zillion light years away from at least a tiny bit of realism and 70mountain guys hanging on with 77+ mountain guys is not right for me, but there is nothing which can be done, mountain top finishes will do better hopefully.

I actually think this was a pretty realistic result for stage 9. It just wasn't a very tough mountain stage.
The final climb was a cat 3 and a cat 2 climb together. I'd say combined they are an easy cat 1, with no steep parts and just 5% most of the time. Also, most of the peleton started this climb with fresh legs.
I think in such conditions it's not strange that the peloton can fly up the mountain at the same speed as a small group of favorites. And it's also not strange that some 70 mountain guys can hang on to it.
Steep parts or a second mountain would kill them.
Great win by Schelling!

That's awesome, Schelling!
GC still doesn't look very bright, though. I'd like to see Dyachenko or Osella try a breakaway, since they clearly aren't strong enough to compete with the best.

Nice win by Cisco, this kinda repays them for Dyachenko's poor form. Berard's performance was incredibly good in this stage, it must be a relief for HTC to know they have such a valuable mountain domestique.
Nicácio keeps doing great, but I'm not raising my expectations too high for him.
Another great report Count, the mountain-top-finishing stages keep building more and more momentum. I can't wait.

Last few days it was Morton getting spotlight as the main domestique, and finally know Berard shows his skill.
Good to have the jersey before the two toughest stages and hope that Pellizotti can be dropped, too close to comfort right now.

Holy shit! That stage was exciting! Great report! Not too sad to drop the jersey, but I hope Pellizotti can regain it sometime.

Hoping for Ndbri to improve on the steeper Mountains, but would be happy with him finishing 6th
Great reporting once again Count! |

Well set for the big mountain stage finale's, though the final hilly stage could also prove crucial as it did last year.
I like these slow burners, it's a bit of a faux bonification battle between Marquez and old timer Pellizotti. Though Pelli losing the leaders jersey is a bit of a blow for WWE I think. Looking forward to seeing how Bouygues and Hollister play the final stages along with the Kenya Airways climbers who are doing a fantastic job.

Will be interesting to see if Salas can hold onto that top 15 in GC, that's the most i can hope for.

Another good stage for Marquez. Would love a stage win on stage 11 being toughest stage, but really most important is opening bigger gap to Pellizotti before the unpredictable hilly circuit race at the end. So far so good though
Great report once again!

Really enjoying this race. Good report again.
And cool to see attackers holding on successfully. Congrats to Seledkov and Bintang.
Marquez lands a first soft blow. But the fight between him and Pellizotti remains tense!

Phew, Izagirre clinging on to 3rd in GC... Surprisingly strong showing by him so far... If this race is any indication for the rest of the season, then Im happy.

Whoa what a nice stage, very well reported once again Count! It's all to fight for in the last mountain stage. There are a lot of little margins between several top10 riders which will be very interesting to follow in the next stage.
And after Cisco's victory in the last stage, it is Bintang's time to collect their consolation prize with Seledkov's triumph. However the KoM is still anyone's game as are all the other minor classifications imo.

Another interesting stage. Hopefully, Pellizotti stays on Marquez' wheel or overtakes him on the upcoming stages.

Great result by Galiev! Seledkov was always going to be too strong for him, so I'll gladly take this result. Really awesome to see my team on the attack every day.

It's in the darkest hours that light shines brightest.
Looks like the GC competition is over, but there's still a small chance. Hopefully it'll turn out for the better.
