Isn't this role as an extremist the very thing your trying to pin me as when I'm not acting that way at all? Whatever. Your the one looking stupid. I stated an opinion. You took it to the extreme for some reason like a toddler on a temper tantrum.

There, there, insults start flowing.
Absurd reasoning (because it's what is was, and it was named as that) usually is used to hint at some flawed logic.
But seriously then, where do you put the limit of when it's acceptable to waste a potential life ? As many spermatozoon and ovum as possible can be wasted, but if two of those melt and give one cell, then it's absolutely forbidden to "kill" that cell ? Or maybe it's fine until the bunch of cells doesn't exceed 2^something cells ? |

First of all, we (me, at least, and I don't think Aquarius either) don't try to pin you as anything. Aquarius simply explained his view on abortion. Same with me and healthcare. You were just sort of the trigger (at least after I realized you didn't say what I thought you did). The first "insult" of this conversation is in your last sentence.

Funny that five or so messages above there was a text depicting Americans (not all of them obviously), as having a monopoly on the truth. "To hell with you if you disagree with me". Die hard clichés. |

Sperm and eggs naturally aren't used all the time. The body works like that. The body is not technically supposed to dispose of a fetis.

A little side remark here for everyone, coming from someone who loves a good discussion:
In a discussion, always treat someone or his/her opinion with complete respect, the way you would like to see yours(elf) being treated, no matter how moronic you really think that person or his/her opinion is. Otherwise you'll end up with just another flamefest.
Moving on, how does everyone feel about the anti-islam video that has been leading to great protests around the world lately, and has even resulted in the death of the US ambassor in Libya? More generally, how do people feel about Islam and anti-islam sentiments with people producing videos like the one in question? |

Moderate republican....
I guess you're still anti-abortion, anti-tax, anti-social security, anti-Obamacare
I am Anti abortion, but we've gone through that and came to the conclusion that Europe loves killing babies. So I am not talking about that. Where'd you get anti-tax? It's very much the opposite. Social security I agree with. Obamacare needs a different name at least.
I'm against abortion myself, but almost everyone in my party believe that a human fetus is to be considered as subhuman waste.
I once spoke at a party meeting and proposed that we should not necessarily outlaw abortion, but we should make women go through and make them say no to alternatives like adoption, group therapy, etc before they say yes to having their baby aborted.
I think only 2 out of maybe 50 at the meeting supported me, some of the others even booed me....
You're very much making it sound like someone who decides on an abortion just makes a frivolous decision to abort, just deciding they don't want to go through pregnancy one day, getting abortion and that's the end of it. I can only speak about the UK, but that's just not the way it works. You go and see your doctor or go to a family planning clinic. They then offer to talk to you about your circumstances, and whether abortion is the right choice for them. Two doctors then have to both agree that the decision to proceed with abortion only occurs due to reasons set out in the 1967(?) Abortion Act.
And as for saying people who support a woman's choice in abortion as "loves killing babies" or considering a foetus as "subhuman waste". Just...wow

Not true. Natural abortion happens. A lot:
Prospective studies using very sensitive early pregnancy tests have found that 25% of pregnancies abort by the sixth week LMP (since the woman's last menstrual period),[53][54] however, other reports suggest higher rates. One fact sheet from the University of Ottawa states, "The incidence of spontaneous abortion is estimated to be 50% of all pregnancies, based on the assumption that many pregnancies abort spontaneously with no clinical recognition."

I'm not. I believe that abortion is a last resort - and that we should encourage women to carry on with the pregnancy and instead make them put the child up for adoption - or keep it themselves.
In Norway, lots of families are waiting for adoption and foster children. Thousands of kids are aborted every year, though... |

My arguement was not to the care, but having to pay for abortions in it. You would know that iif you read the posts above, and note the quotation marks.
In the last conversation on this subject I posted a quote from a spokeswoman from the department of Health and Human services and stated unequivocally that the Affordable Care Act, AKA Obamacare, did not spend any federal dollars in abortions.

And if that doesn't happen, then it is going to be a human being barring any mishaps.
@Levi That's great. (Not sarcasm)

Imo, abortions should be allowed up to a point when the fetus is able to survive outside the uterus (which is after ca. 22 weeks). The fetus then has reached to point when you can speak of a real human being and not just of a bunch of cells.
I think comparison with ova and spermatozoa is a bit misplaced, because alone, they´ll soon die off and thus are not able to create a new human being.
That changes once the spermatozoon fertilizes the ovum, which is a completely new matter (imo).

The choice should also be mine to kill everybody I want, and do full graphic, real life reanactments of Grand Theft Auto on the streets, then bathe myself in my victim's blood.
Edit: See? I can do the extremist thing to. And Felix: I can see your point there. While I don't agree with abortions, I think any abortion after 22 weeks is simply disgusting.
