Don't forget your passport
Well I don't like to brag, but in my mind I played an underappreciated role in the bid
My mate Dave has been reading it too, and has hired another Yorkshireman. Josh Edmondson. Stay tuned for more revalations as Yorkshire takes over the world |

Due to the fact that the tour has come to Yorkshire two years earlier than expected, we have some new objectives:
1: To ensure we are in the TDF in 2014!!!
2: To win a stage in Yorkshire.
At the moment, we don't know the makeup of the stages but realistically it can only be a combination of: 1) A sprint finish, 2) a prologue, 3) a Hilly stage.
We have the following feedback from the UCi after our Worldtour application was turned down.
Overall: Declined.
Sporting: Bordeline. The signing of LL Sanchez will greatly increase the prestige of the team, however we believe they would stuggle in the Worldtour to consultantly have a chance of competing with the best teams in the world.
Ethical: Borderline. It is always tricky judging a continental team, where testing is not mandatory. We are please that White rose has joined the MPCC and has started to institute major testing specifications. However keen this shows the management to be, the lack of 12 months past records for the majority of the team, would make promoting them potentially dangerous to the sport.
Financial: Acceptable. The sponsorship arrangements are ballanced and would provide a minimum acceptable level for a worldtour level team.
Administrative: Acceptable. The management and administration of the team, is acceptable for a worldtour level team.
Although you have not passed the tests for worldtour this year, we would be happy for you to apply for pro-contienental status, and next year if our suggestions are acted on, we would be delighted to reconsider your application. |

Yorkshire Post, 21st December. The Yorkshire Tea Team has been accepted to the pro-continental level. They unveiled their 2013 roster and stated they would be looking to push for Worldtour status this year.
The new jersey was displayed. It is prodominatly black and when one commentater asked how to tell the tell the difference between theirs and the Rapha Jersey, Gaffeff reply was "Ours will be the one in front".
So fighting talk from Gaffeff already and looking forward to the new year.

ProContinental is already very good, and WT races are possible with wildcards
WT level by 2014 should be possible, winning in Yorkshire is a great goal to pursuit |

As this also seems to be turning into a yorkshire based public information service, thought I'd let you know about this: https://www.yorksh...our-makers
If anyone is interested in helping out when le tour is in Yorkshire, thought you guys might be interested.
As for the story, looks like the DB may only be a few days away. If so, the story will probably start next weekend. I'm off to watch revolution this weekend!

Cycling Weekly Jan 2013.
Our preview of the 2013 continues with our verdict on the pro-continental teams.
Assuming that Katusha are accepted into the pro-continental ranks, we would expect them to be the best of the sporting teams. Although their ability to get wild cards will be influenced by them appearing to the damaged goods.
Europecar will be finish close to the proranks again. They just need to sort the funding to take a step up.
In the case of Yorkshire we believe they will stuggle to justify a place on sporting grounds alone. With the chance of a lifetime next year with the start in Yorkshire, even if they cannot get into the pro ranks they will need to give a good performance to secure wild cards to the tour next year.

Well I may just have to start the 2013 season with the 2nd best Armstrong tweet.
"Armstrong is the past, Yorkshire is the Future" - Christian Prudhomme.
We have added Greg Lemond to our coaching staff. His job will be to work with the Sprinters, especially Ben Swift and help them acheive our goals in 2014.
We have begun the search for a new sponsor, however we have not ruled out renewing with Yorkshire Tea. However there are questions over whether Yorkshire can afford to sponsor a World tour team, and indeed is it would be the market they are looking for, or as their spokesperson put it "Does Europe appreciate a good cuppa enough".
Our New young riders will be producing a weekly blog thoughout the season. The racing will be starting when the new db comes out.

Yorkshire post online: 7th January 2013.
Riders blogs:
Nicholas Boyle: First Week of the new year is all about track work. Yorkshire is a bit cold this time of year so most of the training is indoors. It's not the most fun you can have on a bike, but vital to improve our TT position. Sorry I can't turn left and type so will speak again next week.
Tom Wilson: I'm on the track with Nick. Practising our new TT positions. Now I've been on a few rides with the main team, I'm beginning to worry that I can't keep up on the flat, but enjoying making some of them squirm on the hills. I dropped Ed Clancy last week, okay not Contador but it's a start, and it gained me a pint ... [Looks nervously over shoulder] which I will enjoy next year I'm off to Glasgow revolution with Andy [Tennent] next month, so looking forward to my first competitive outing in tea colours.
Dan Wilcox: Guess where I am, it's round and goes On and on and on and on and ... Oh Yes, it's track time. Practising TT, not my favourite event but we neeed to get our flat speed up. Myself and Tom have been dropped on the flat on a few training rides when they put the hammer down. I've got to get my flat speed sorted, the coaches believe I have potential to have a very high top speed. But need to work at it.

Karma obviously hates me, and decides to punish me for waiting for the new DB
BBC news 8th January "New Yorkshire tea rider Luis Leon Sanchez has been suspended by his team after being registered with them for only 8 days. Reports in NRC Handelsblad suggest that Snachez was involved with Fuentes when racing with the Liberty Sequeros team.
Gaffeff reiterated that Sanchez is considered innocent until proven guilty and there will remain with the team for the time being, however he will not be available for selection until the matter is cleared.
A comment from a leading british rider who declined to be named was indicative of the general feeling in the peleton. "They should have checked their history, bringing in a Spanish rider in their late twenties without checking was at best incautious."
This will serioiusly impact Yorkshire teas chances of being a worldtour team next year.

Building DB now. As a preview, a team from "less happier lands" looks enviously at the new region that has arrived in the UK.
p.s. I made it Sprinter, Fighter as I want a bit more of a rough and ready team than the slick lancastrians
