Majka, who was set to be Saxo's Giro captain ... well, he crashed in Tirreno and hasn't really recovered from that. Riis says he's likely to miss the Giro. |

Who can step in now? Dout they have any hope for results, and I doubt they had any before.

Joël Blévin's resignation has been refused by Bretagne-Schuller's board.

Ricco receives 12-year ban
The Italian National Anti-Doping Tribunal has today issued its verdict in the Riccardo Ricco doping case, banning the 28-year-old for 12 years after he admitted to self-administering a blood transfusion in February 2011.
Ricco had previously served a two-year ban for EPO use and the verdict from the Italian authority, which finds in favour of the Italian Olympic Committee's recommendation, will effectively end his career in professional cycling.

Taaramae season goes from bad to worse.
After Taaramae´s fall in Castilla y Leon, now it is clear - broken arm. 2-3 months away I guess.

Disaster? The guy is clearly doped, and stupid. He has a 50%+ hematocrit exception certificate from his time as an amateur, which chances are was increased by EPO use. So definitely not a disaster. |

It's not like he wants to come back at all But if given the change he probably would anyway
Do you think about a comeback?
"No, I ride just casually, to enjoy myself. I began a week ago, but not every day, only when I have the need. It's much more nice and relaxing this way. We just shoot the sh!t and stop at the cafe for a coffee. I have no desire to return to racing. Not one bit. I've turned the page on cycling. The world of cycling disgusts me and has made me want to vomit. All those within the sport disgust me. They wanted to make me stop already when I came back. Now that's enough: Riccò is no longer. So don't break my balls any more".
Other provocative quotes: "The phrases attributed to me at Pavullo are inventions. And had I remained in that hospital, I'd have been dead: they didn't understand anything".
"I didn't read the dailies, though they had told me that they already tried and condemned me. Instead, this had nothing to do with doping. I didn't reveal anything to the medics".
"I want to begin to work like everyone else. I'd like to become a barman. It's better to earn 1000 euro per month than to go back to the peleton. There would be less stress."
"I don't have any health problems. I'm well and ride my bike. They told me I'd return as I was before. I'm not demoralized. The important thing is to have your conscience in place. I don't miss cycling".

Ricco could have been a great rider but instead he fell in the temptation of doping. |

As far as I can see, Ricco was an average rider who doped his entire Amateur and Professional career. However, if everyone else is doping as much as he was, then maybe he would have been good on an even field. I doubt that though. |

What wacko is trying to point out is that Ricco isn't the only doper, but was stupid enough to get caught. |

I meant that his career was a disaster, not that fact that he got caught.

I don't think his career was a disaster, it was quite amusing.
At least for everyone except him. |

I'm happy for Riccò. The guy clearly needed to saty away from cycling for its own sake, and now he'll got the chance to have a healthy life.

Best scenario Dauphine Libere will be next race..worst no Tour. No way he can be top form at tour anyway.
This is like rule already for him..

There's still a chance he can go to the Vuelta, if Cofidis are invited. |
