Wasn't a top 5 but you got Steegmans in the top 10. Good result I must say, according to your bad luck right now.
Well, Steegmans had no helper in the sprint, so I think his seventh place is okay.
Yeah, I'm satisfied |

13. March
Paris - Nice
Stage 7: Peynier - Tourrettes-sur-Loup, 218,9 km
A typical hilly stage, and the Col de Vence (10,1 km, 6,2%) will be hard, favourites can lost a lot of time here. In real life, Yaroslav Popovych gives up today. A bad sign?
Team mission:
- Lost no time (Popovych, Brajkovic)
- Get in the breakaway
Popovych now with a shape of 81, and Brajkovic even with 88, so they should be able to compete.
Favourites: Philippe Gilbert, Sámuel Sanchez, Fränk Schleck, Joaquín Rodriguez, Vincenzo Nibali.
My tip: Gilbert has shown in Aurillac and Mende that he is in shape and survive even long hills, so he is the topfavourite today.

Depart in Peynier.
The first of four(!) 3th categorie-hills, the Côte de Barjols. Today a eight-men-breakaway, including Simon Spilak, Marzio Bruseghin and Daryl Impey.
Simon Spilak (Lampre) 4
Marzio Bruseghin (Caisse D'Epargne) 2
Jurgen Van de Walle (QuickStep) 1
Just 30 km after the Côte de Barjols, the break is now 5'00" in front. The intermediate sprint in Flayosc is won by Daryl Impey.
Daryl Impey (RadioShack) 3
Jérémy Roy (FDJ) 2
Simon Spilak (Lampre) 1
Here the break at the Côte de Tuillières.
Jérémy Roy (FDJ) 7
Florian Stalder (BMC) 5
Marzio Bruseghin (Caisse D'Epargne) 3
Simon Spilak (Lampre) 2
Damien Monier (Cofidis) 1
At the Côte du Mont Méaulx, the break had already a big gap of almost 8 minutes.
Jurgen Van de Walle (QuickStep) 4
Damien Monier (Cofidis) 2
Jérémy Roy (FDJ) 1
In Flayence, the second intermediate sprint.
Daniel Oss (Liquigas) 3
Daryl Impey (RadioShack) 2
Simon Spilak (Lampre) 1
The Côte de Tignet. 80 km before the finish, and 9'00" minutes in front. Looked good for the break.
Marzio Bruseghin (Caisse D'Epargne) 4
Jérémy Roy (FDJ) 2
Florian Stalder (BMC) 1
The peloton started to gain time on the break, so they forced their speed, Impey gets tired, he almost lost contact on the Côte de Plascassier.
Jérémy Roy (FDJ) 4
Marzio Bruseghin (Caisse D'Epargne) 2
Damien Monier (Cofidis) 1
The Côte de Châteauneuf, the last hill before the Col de Vence. Finally Impey losed contact to the other.
Jérémy Roy (FDJ) 7
Simon Spilak (Lampre) 5
Marzio Bruseghin (Caisse D'Epargne) 3
Florian Stalder (BMC) 2
Jurgen Van de Walle (QuickStep) 1
Simon Spilak and Damien Monier, both survived the Col de Vence. The other 6 rider splited in a few groups, Impey is even at the peloton. which really chased now and many rider lost contact.
Simon Spilak (Lampre) 10
Damien Monier (Cofidis) 8
Jurgen Van de Walle (QuickStep) 6
Marzio Bruseghin (Caisse D'Epargne) 4
Florian Stalder (BMC) 3
Jérémy Roy (FDJ) 2 (he got the polka dot jersey)
Daniel Oss (Liquigas) 1
The peloton at the top of the Col de Vence. Samuel Sánchez tried to go away, but he failed and wave now to the other. Yaroslav (with -5) lost contact, but Janez Brajkovic could hold himself in the pack.
I hate this gaps in downhills! Brajkovic losed contact with the pack. But Yaroslav came closer to the other favourites. In the pack, only 32 rider left, Nicolas Vogondy attacks! In front, just Damien Monier, now alone. And nobody should able to steal him the stage win. 1'28" after him a 3-men-group with Marzio Bruseghin, Simon Spilak and Jurgen Van de Walle, and 2'36 after Monier the peloton.
A great victory for the french Damien Monier! He was the strongest rider in the breakaway and can celebrate himself now.
1'20" behind him, Spilak, Bruseghin and Van de Walle reach the finish, but the pack could close the gap.
Bad luck for Pierre Rolland, he falled 500m before the finish. But he could finish with the same time as the peloton.
Janez Brajkovic came in as 46th, with the same time as Spilak and the pack. I was even more surprised as I see that even Popovych (70th) got the same time as the pack! Luck today.

1.) Damien Monier (Cofidis) 5h38'31"

It seems so. In my game, this stage always win a french rider in a breakaway.
ANNOUNCEMENT: Going a week on holiday tomorrow, so I can not continue my story here until the 17. October. Sorry

@ all
Thanks! I'm back, so I will continue here.
Tirreno - Adriatico
Stage 4: San Gemini - Chieti, 242,1 km
An interesting stage. As long as a one-day-race, the first half of the stage is not so hard, expect the Sella di Corno, but if the speed is ot to high, most of the rider should hould contact. The last 60km should decide the stage, maybe even the overall, because there are many little hills, a lot of chances for attacks.
Team mission:
- Stay in the front group (Klöden)
- "Damage limitation" (Zubeldia, Machado)
- Get in the breakaway
Favourites: Damiano Cunego, Alexandre Vinokourov, Ryder Hesjedal, Kim Kirchen, Sergei Ivanov,Andreas Klöden.
My tip: With such a distance, one of the classic specialists will win. Vino makes it today.

Depart in San Gemini.
After 57 km we know the breakaway: Expext Tiago Machado, there are other good rider such as Robert Hunter, Maxime Monfort or Fabian Wegmann.
The Sella di Corno. Marco Frapporti attack to extend his advantage in the mountain ranking. Machado and Ciavatta could not hold contact, but come back at the downhill.
Marco Frapporti (Colnago) 5
Francesco Reda (QuickStep) 3
Jackson Rodríguez (Androni) 1
Tiago Machado wins the intermediate sprint in L'Aquila.
Tiago Machado (RadioShack) 5
Pasquale Muto (Miche) 3
Maxime Monfort (Colombia) 2
Lampre and QuickStep (although Reda is in the break) start to work against the break.
Another bad day for Tiago Machado. Already at the begin of the Poggio Picenze he lost contact with the other in the front group.
But Machado is not the only one. Just 4 rider could hold theirself in front at the top of the Poggio Picenze.
Marco Frapporti (Colnago) 5
Jackson Rodríguez (Androni) 3
Fabian Wegmann (Milram) 1
The peloton caught Machado. From RadioShack, just Klöden and his helper Vaitkus (who was strong today) were there.
The front group still with a big gap, had the pack already lost the stage win?
Bucchianico, and the second intermediate sprint today.
Fabian Wegmann (Milram) 5
Maxime Monfort (Colombia) 3
Marco Frapporti (Colnago) 2
And a fall in the pack! José Ivan Gutierrez falls.
Wegmann attacked and it seems that he could make the solo victory today.
+24" Rodríguez, Monfort
+1'26" Frapporti
+2'02" Peloton
Just 3000m to go, and Fabian Wegmann is probably the winner today. He has 40 seconds on Rodríguez and Monfort and 1'30" on the pack. Klöden with bad luck, he was in the second half in the peloton, and in the downhill the peloton split in two groups.
And the first attackers in the peloton! Damiano Cunego accelerates, Basso try to follow. The peloton really work hard in the last kilometers and the big advantage of Wegmann is away.
Basso were to weak, but Cunego came away. Wegmann still have twenty seconds, will it reach for the stage victory?
Bad luck for the german classic specialist, Cunego reached him and could beat him in the sprint. Vinokourov came also from behind with high speed, finished 3rd.

I guess your team forgot the doping. (JK)
Oh, and great to see the story back!

Not the best day for you. And Cunego this "dumbass" killed Wegmann`s stage win |

@FreitasPCM
Thank you Yeah, with EPO Klöden had probably win xD
@roturn
It was more a mistake from the bad manager of RadioShack as from Klöden. If he had better positioned, he had not such a big residue. But he showed today that he is getting stronger...
To the stage victory: I also think that Wegmann earn that stage win, he worked hard in the front group. I do not like Cunego much, but his attack was strong and he is not such a bad sprinter. Bad luck, I hope Wegmann get another chance to show his power.
14. March
Good news for all Paulinho-Fans: He developed well, with +2 Mountain, +2 Recovery, +1 Resistance, +1 TimeTrial and +1 Prolog. Still weaker than Klöden, Armstrong or Leipheimer, but maybe a possible leader for a GT 2011.
The teams which compete in Gent-Wevelgem are as followed: All 18 PT-Teams + Bbox, Cervélo, Landbouwkrediet and Vacansoleil.
All ProTour-Teams announced their participation at the well-known hilly cobble classic, the Ronde Van Vlaanderen.
This teams ask for a wildcard (4 are possible) in the prestigious cobble classic: BMC, Bbox, Cervélo, Cofidis, ISD, Landbouwkrediet, Palmeiras and Vacansoleil.
Expect Palmeiras Resort, all teams have chances to get in the race.
Paris - Nice
Stage 8: Nice - Nice, 128,4 km
Although it is the last stage of Paris-Nice, Omega Pharma and Gilbert can not relax today. With the Col de la Porte, the rider get almost 1000m higher. Then a long descent, and at the last 32km the Col de la Turbie et the Col d'Èze. The last chance to improve his position in the overall and maybe the hardest stage in the whole stage race.
Team mission:
- Get time and in the Top 10 in the GC (Popovych)
- Stay in the front group (Brajkovic)
- Get in the breakaway
Favourites: Philippe Gilbert, Samuel Sánchez, Joaquin Rodríguez, Fränk Schleck, Vincenzo Nibali.
My tip: Samuel Sánchez has nothing to lose (29th, 52 seconds down) and makes it today. If he get also the yellow jersey?

Paulinho is already now strong enough to be your leader at the Giro, because of the weak field. But I guess you have another plan for the Giro.
