For anyone curious, Valverde finished in the front group. Didn't sprint for 2nd because Ventoso was there...and because he'd been on the attack until he got reeled in on the flat 2kms from the finish

Looking at the field, I think he should've won anyway, don't really see better sprinters up there, not in the first group at least.

As good as a 3rd place is getting wheel across the line 1st will give the confidence a bigger boost. Swift seems like one of the only sky riders actually in form
