So as I arrived in Buenos Aires, I was in a bit of a hurry. I didn't want to miss a single minute, just in case. Of course I had to see my family first, but after an hour I was quick to get to the hospital. While she didn't know I was coming, I had managed to get all the details. I of course needed confirmation to visit her, even though all the staff at the hospital knew me. I said I was her boyfriend, just to avoid anything complicated, so the receptionist led me to the room, saying
"This might be awkward."
Not knowing what she meant, I opened the unlocked door, only to find a heavily pregnant Sophia holding hands with some sort of sleazy-looking stereotipical cool guy character.
"Fabio!" She screamed
"This is Matteo, he's the father..."

Baby Daddy "But I thought he left." I said, still absolutely shellshocked.
"He did, but now he's back." I sat there. I didn't know what to do. Fortunately the guy didn't seem too hostile, in fact he was a fan. Sophia asked him to leave the room, and for a few minutes we sat there in total silence.
"Look, Fabio. I prefer you; he's a massive jerk. But still, he is the father. I'm going to try and get all the paperwork sorted when I can. He left me, and who's to say he won't do it again? I'll tell him to leave. The doctors said I'll have the baby in a few days. How about you go home and I'll call you when it's time."
Without saying a word I turned and exited out the door. That's the sort of connection I have with Sophia; we don't need to say anything but we can have a whole conversation. As I left, she said
"Oh, and Fabio. I'm so glad you came"

Baby Daddy Three days had passed of me waiting anxiously by the phone. Of course I got together with some friends, but all at my house. I went on some training rides, but for no longer than 20 minutes.
Then, I got the call. I rushed to the hospital and got there within 10 minutes - on my bike of course - to make a good story for the kid. I went to Sophia's room and immediately I could only think of one thing to say.
"Where's ummm..."
The words struggled to come out.
"Where's Matteo?"
"He's gone. He didn't really argue."
That honestly was a big relief to hear. I'd actually gotten really excited about doing this. Before I could say anything else I heard the unmistakable sounds of birthing. It was an indescribable sight, it was kind of gross but also magical. You wanted to look away but at the same time you couldn't. Then I heard the nurse's voice.
"It's a boy!"
"Yes!.. I mean, wow, a boy!"
I couldn't really hide my feelings about it being a boy. Every man wants their child, or the child they'll be taking care of (I guess), to be a boy. Who knows, I'm 21, I might even be riding with him in 18 years! She decided to call him Ruben. Ruben Rivero - taking his mother's last name of course.

Vuelta a Burgos
A nice flat stage to start us off. I haven't exactly had the best preparation for this race, so this is welcome. Although, there is a bit of a hill towards the finish, so I may be a contender.
Torres, Kamyshev and Lang went in the break.
They were caught with ample time remaining, so I just hopped out of the bunch to take the mountain points at the last climb.
I tried to keep going but I couldn't quite stay away.
With 2.3km to go our train was good, but a bit disjointed.
Going into the last 1200m Jagoba was taking the lead. We were sprinting for Christian Torres but I was also on his wheel.
With 300m left I was to the right of Christian, and Janse van Rensburg was leading.
The South African took the win, while I just edged out Julian Kern on the line.
That's how close it was...
I will take the mountain and youth jersey into tomorrow.

Vuelta a Burgos
This one has a much better bump than yesterday. I'm in my rhythm and this could be a good stage.
Belda, Neirynk and like yesterday Kamyshev were in the break.
We made a big train, looking for the win. Everyone was there except Michael.
Unfortunately though all of our main guys, including me, got stuck behind.
With 1.8km to go Jagoba had brought Christian back, while Jarlinson was following Janse van Rensburg. I was also coming forward quickly in the green jersey, but I wouldn't be there for the win.
I had a lot of speed, but Janse van Rensburg was well ahead.
I finished 4th, which is definitely good considering the circumstances. Reinardt Janse van Rensburg seems to be on great form, making it two wins in two.
