If the whole GB track and road team were doped like people seem to believe and it came out... Cycling would be over in Britain. Full stop.
Not defending the cleanliness of Va-va-Vroome or the likes, but on a wider scale there just has to be a certain degree of correctness in what Brailsford is claiming.
Although I'd agree that some sort of equipmental advantage seems plausible given the records being set. |

Same excuses, same excuses. Yeah, they just don't know how to train during 3,5 years, and can't chose their equipment properly either.
Then suddenly that training proves it has been awesome and their equipment is better than the opponents' as well.
This doesnt make sense to me
The GB team always does well at WorldCup events, and other meets such as the worlds...

They do well as a random top-4 or 5 nation on the track (France, Germany, Australia, G.B.).
Now they're making their opponents look like juniors, and have beaten a bunch of world records.
That's hardly the same thing. |

Cycling became hard to watch this year, what sense does it have to see the race where every hour british track cyclists sets a new world record or the road races where the team with same person behind it does a time-trial up the mountain with riders who were average or at least not so dominant their whole careers?
I mean did aliens crash to the Channel and Royal navy gave their technology to Brailsford as a gift?

womens and mens team pursuit hve been setting wr's all year
Kenny came 2nd at worlds, has only moved up 1
Trott is just awsomely amazing
Mens team sprinters have been top all year
Pendleton... is just pendleton, amazingly awsome
I dont think they've been making people look like juniors, they've been good, and in most events pushed a bit.
Every cyclist has said that the London boards are insanly fast for some reason, and everyone was expecting wr's.
France hve been very good, and unlucky
Germany have been a bit dissapointing, i was expecting more
Australia have been no where, not even making the team pursuit finals, so you cant compare to them.

Oops, I forgot to watch the keirin, but seeing the results, I didn't miss a thing.
Praised be Meares for beating Pendleton, but that's about it. Is there anything left the Brits didn't win on track (yes, there's the men's omnium) ?
I read an article this morning where the French staff or officials suspected something wrong with the material, especially the wheels, which have Mavic stickers but are not Mavic wheel. They said either they've a small engine in it, either they've got a system to maintain or increase inertia. Whatsoever they've come to the conclusion that there's a mechanical trick somewhere.
François Pervis (sub for the team sprint) also stated they can't believe what they see from the inside of the track, with riders accelerating while sitting on the saddle, in ways that are beyond anything that had ever been seen before.
Florent Brard summed it up in a more crude way, but I can't decently write it here. |

LIES. THEY WOULD NEVER DO ANYTHING WRONG BECAUSE BRAILSFORD IS BALD JESUS
The suspicion isn't helped by the fact that they uncover the wheels right before the start and cover them immediately after the finish, and don't let anyone see the wheels.
Now, wheels have to be homologated, meaning everyone knows exactly what they're like because it's made public.....so if everyone knows what they're like, why hide them?
I apologize in advance for questioning your religion, inevitable GB fans about to flame me.

I think TheManxMissille needs to make a new thread... "GB Cheating Thread"
I can buy into the wheels theory given the dominance & secretiveness, especially given the riding style of some of the GB guys/gals.
But you know what, if Germany or Australia or frigging Eritrea were dominating in the same manner I actually wouldn't give a wheel.
Useless as they have proven to be, it is the UCI's & IOC's job to get stressed over such matters... anyone complaining on a forum just makes themselves look sore about the whole thing, under the circumstances. |

Thank goodness for that, we finally do get a gold in the sprint! At the rate things were going, I was expecting yet another GB whitewash, which is just the story of it all.
Anyone here have any idea about Mountain Biking (Where Cadel came from), or dare I even bring it up... BMX? |

Yep, BMX today with the time trials.
Medal favourites:
Women: Shanaze Reade (GB, but she'll choke as happened often), Caroline Buchanan (Aus), Alise Post (USA), Mariana Pajon (Col), Magalie Pottier & Laetitia Le Corguillé (Fra), Sarah Walker (NSe)
Men: Maris Strombergs (Lat), Joris Daudet (Fra), Sam Willoughby (Aus), Mark Willers (NSe), Connor Fields, David Herman (USA), Raymon vd Biezen (Net) and maybe Liam Philips (GB).
Exciting!

So there are some BMX fans out there, lol. I have my hopes for Caroline and Sam, who are touted as likely gold medalists (Though the rate we’re going, yeah, lol.) I’m expecting the GB riders to pull something extra here as they usually do here, lol. Looks like Cavendesh yet again is disgraced at the Olympics, lol.
I think the Latvian guy might prove to be a really hard match, quite a gun that one, lol.
I think they're running a 5-3-1 system for the competition, meaning the cream will rise to the finals, but one screw up in the final and that's it. |

2 German males, who can ride well, but will probably not qualify for the semis. No German females, as their best female rider (Nadja Pries) is only a Junior, so isn't allowed to race (in the Olympics, only the Elite, so 19 years and over).
The competition is as follows:
- 1 seeding run, which will determine the lineup of the quarter finals (men) and the semi-finals (women). All riders progress to the next run.
- 32 men will be divided in 4 groups of 8 riders (best 4 of the time trial will each get their "own" moto). They race 3 races with the same groups. A win is awardes with 1 point, a 2nd with 2, a 3rd with 3 etc. The 4 riders with the least points advance to the semi finals.
- Semi finals (both men and women), are also 3 races (in normal race, only 1). The best 4 out of each group of the semi final qualify for the final.
- Final is 1 run.
And Mr_bob, I'm a huge BMX-fan. Was a BMX-racer myself for more than 25 years at a decent level (1 time National champ in the Amateur class, 1 time 6 at the European champs in the same Amateur class (17 years and over)), but never raced the Elite-class. Went t see a few Super Cross-races (Holland and Denmark) and still love the sport!
