I agree with The Hobbit that gifting money to a team shouldn't be allowed
As TMM said earlier the deal is correct and should be accepted. Nevertheless, one should wonder about opqs deals though.
It would have been cool to see the whole transfer deal in one post though since it is easy to forget the Degenkolb trade as part of this deal ( I forgot about that as well in my last post )

But then that is something that should have been made a lot clearer during renewals.
However i asked if you could sell a WAIT rider and Ollfardh then replied with a method through which that could be done. Both the Cavendish and Pinot sale followed Ollfardhs example which, as far as i'm concerened, makes them perfectly legal sales
I thought Ollfardh said something about you would first have to get the money to resign. He said nothing about gifting money. It is natural to assume he meant gather money from other transfers, and it makes sense that gifting money should not be allowed, or else it could be used in other contexts, like helping custom riders or other cheating. |

@Hobbit - In case you missed it my edit on the previous page shows Ollfardhs clarrification on the issue of selling a WAIT rider. Both the Cavendish and Pinot deals follow his examples

I see this now, but I still disagree with it. It doesn't make any sense as it makes the wait list rather useless except as a way of not paying the wages. What is the point if not being able to sell a rider on the wait list, if you can sell a rider on the wait list, and make a profit as if you had renewed them. I feel this part of the deal is worse than the idea of a three way deal, which when done properly, makes sense. |

Don't agree there. It does not matter for the buyer whether he'll have to pay 65000 or 50000+15000 . There is no difference except that it gives you a bit of negotiation freedom. And in the end TMM has equally much money.

Trust me, it was questioned. And laughed at for many hours.
I think was it was a same three ways deal like TMMs, just see that page and watch Garmin and OPQs and Giant
I'm not sure what you're on about... I wasn't in a three way deal. I got an exceptionally good offer for Dennis, and took it, that's all.

Uh, I have no quarrel with the three-way deal and I think it's legit as any deal here but I find it strange that - despite Ollfardh's notification to wait with the deal - people push it through anyway. Since when does stop mean go?

I'm happy to wait for Ollfardh's approval for the deal to go through, i said confirm to show that I accept the terms, I'm sorry about that, probably shouldn't have. |

Ollfardh never said stop or wait. He said, and direct quote, "In the mean time I've learned more about the deal and I'm not sure if I'm going to allow it, this 3 way dealing is definitey not what I had intended. Decision tomorrow, but feel free to send me a PM in case you want to defend your case." [taken from my FDJ HQ]
The words 'stop' and 'wait' not mentioned once. Pedantic and anal i know but the first time he, again direct quote, "recommend waiting with further transactions until it's approved." [taken from the Transfer Thread] is after i posted my deals.
Now i am happy to wait for Ollfardh to come back and talk it through and wait for him to give an ok. But as nothing against the rules has been done i see no reason to not carry on as normal.

Sorry to interrupt this intriguing fiasco, just two quick questions:
1) Does money have a use outside transfers (buying riders and free agents)
2) If not what happens to the money we have left at the end of the transfer season? Does it carry over to the next transfer season?

I was asked by Ollfard to look through the deal as an outsider and here is my conclusion.
The deal as a whole might not technically be illegal. It is however and obvious attempt to bypass the no reselling rule as Chavanel in reality is used first as payment for Degenkolb and then as payment for Pinot. As this is illegal the teams have set things up this way instead.
Ignoring whether or not you should be able to gift riders the part concerning Chavenel makes it am indirect breach of rules and a clear and conscious violoation on the rules and as such should be cancelled.
I have no major issue with the Degenkolb deal alone or the Pinot deal alone as that is more a matter of technicalities than annything else and should the teams want to go on with those without involving any more riders and Chavanel in particular I think they should, while a ban for any further deals involving two of the three involved teams should be banned to avoid any further attempts.

Right... Well i was hoping to a PM discussion with Ollfardh or his outsider and at this point i've got neither... Not angry but not impressed (not your fault Atlantius, nothing against you)

a) I second Stromeon's questions. I was going to ask the same thing.
b) I really have no idea WTF OPQS IS DOING!!!! I enquired about both Stybar and Velits, and their prices would add up to 102k in Paul's opinion. Pretty much he gave Garmin 102k for Dennis
Now, he gives away Chavanel for 400, which has to be the cheapest deal of the transfer window.

At the end of transfers I think I'll make a ranking prediction and season preview, like some of the guys did for MG.
Also, I know I've missed something (again ) but when do transfers end?

@Cycleman
a) #OPQSforCT
b) you even asked for cav and chava, after they were sold...and i dont remember an offer for velits or stybar from you...on top of that, i honestly wanted to not give him stybar + velits, but my phone was so slow, and i was writing with LLS at the same time, and my phone made me crazy, because it was so slow. I really didnt want this Dennis deal to end like this...
