Contador loses one of his main helpers, but I have to say that is a nice move. Navarro will, hopefully, show that he's a quality climber, and he'll have more chances to be the leader in races that he wasn't in the past (besides with the return of Contador, he wouldn't have more opportunities to lead SaxoBank)
Good move by Novarro and shows that he has more ambition than just being Contadors helper
Also on Duggan Spidertech is a good place for him to go, team leader and a good program for his style of racing

But like I said, the only races that Spidertech gets into he would be leading for Cannondale anyway.

Not at all
Go ahead think that, but its not true. Would he be leading at the Tour de Suisse? No.
And even then, Euser and Boily will still get leadership over him, most likely. I think he probably just wants to focus on an American Circuit, and obviously with the smaller races that Spidertech race that = more chances to lead, rather than being a top domestique anyway, at the American races that Liquigas ride.
I personally think its a good move for him, to a team thats headed in the right direction and I think Spidertech having USA and Canada NC RR Champs will be a big thing!

If this is true... that would be the shock of the transfer window so far for me.
Dani Moreno to Cofidis.

However, the article is not to be much trusted anyway. Will be intresting if there will be more rumours around this transfer though.

even my uber-trusted cycling site SpazioCiclismo reported that news, so i can tell that it's almost official, but as long as one of the two teams announce it officially it's not official. BTW it's the most surprising transfer so far, even if i say and hope that Liqui will surprise us with the most surprising signging(s) of this season. |

Are Cofidis trying to make GT riders or something out of these riders, or will they be lieutenants at cofidis as well?

I don't know much about the team. Rasch says it will consist of 50% swiss riders and 50% foreign. Cancellara is linked with the team, will be pro conti, and will ride TdS, Romandie, and probably the Giro as well.

I hope he'll get more of a captain's role than he did at BMC. He's a really good climber actually, as we saw in Tour of Utah.

Tschopp became more and more a bigger role for BMC. Now he will surely be their main leader in the mountains and I am interesting how he will perform after the team change.
Cofidis with another good signing. Hopefully Le Mevel can find his form again. Otherwise he might be an excellent helper for Taaramae, Navarro, Coppel... Nice team they are forming. |
