Vuelta a Colombia starts in a week; always a race I like to follow, as you may have noticed from a few posts I made about it last year, even if I can't watch it. The route's pretty standard Vuelta a Colombia fare (i.e. if it was raced with a European peloton it would be pretty crap but because there basically aren't rouleurs in Colombia you can escape from miles out and put minutes into rivals without fear of being caught), though the Alto de las Palmas MTT, traditionally the last stage, comes halfway through the race as it finishes in Bogotá rather than MedellÃn this year. And of course the legendary La LÃnea, that puts a whole new dimension on Hors Catégorie, is back as ever. Also interesting to follow will be the presence of the Rwandan National Team, as the Vuelta looks to globalise, so does Rwanda, so it will be nice to see how that goes along (although I'll expect they'll struggle to match Óscar Sevilla and his pals in their defiant display of EPO-guzzling).

Tour de Korea, Stage 3
Domagalski takes the win, as he just stays in front of the sprinting peloton after attacking 5km's from the finish. Jones was the fastest in the pack. Aberasturi keeps the leader's jersey.

Tour de Korea, Stage 4
After being beaten by a breakaway rider yesterday, Jones has every reason to smile today, as he won the stage in a bunch sprint. As a bonus he also takes the leader's jersey from Aberasturi. They have the same time in GC, but Jones has more points.

GP Kanton Aargau
Nizzolo can win. He wins GP Kanton Aargau in a sprint.
Tour de Korea, Stage 5
Domagalski takes his second win in Korea. This time from a breakaway in which he was clearly the strongest, after a lot of help by his teammate Williams. He finished 2 minutes in front of the pack and takes the leader's jersey from Jones.

It was a hard race and a hard uphill sprint. Avg. speed was 45 km/h despite the hill.
8 riders including Nizzolo attacked before the last hill but the peloton closed the gap before the summit. Dillier and 2 others attacked at the top but the peloton caught up during the downhill.
IAM made a sprint train but with about 150 m left Nizzolo started the sprint from about 8th position. Great sprint by Pasqualon too, he came close. |

Tour de Korea, Stage 6
Bizhigitov from Vino-4-ever wins the queen stage of the Tour de Korea. Again an early breakaway made it to the finish. Bole takes the leader's jersey, as leader Domagalski finished more than 7 minutes behind the winner.

Ronde van Limburg
Dehaes wins Ronde van Limburg in a sprint.
Rund um Köln
Rund um Köln result as mentioned above. Groenewegen beat Greipel in the sprint.
Tour de Korea, Stage 7,8 & Final GC
A curious result in Korea, where two riders were declared winner after a malfunction of the finish line cameras. A break made it to the finish again.
Another victory for Drapac in the last stage. Jones takes his second stage win in a mass sprint. Bole won the overall.

Ster ZLM Toer, Prologue
Another TDF prep race, the Ster ZLM Toer, has started. In a 6.4 km prologue, Van Emden was the fastest over the BMC duo of Phinney and Küng.

Good stuff by my daily squad guys Phinney and Küng. Also, Van Aert 8th is another classy prologue result.

Must be putting in the numbers to see where he's at. Otherwise, it'd be not great, it'd be just stupid. Look at that profile lol

He had hoped to get 5-7 with him probably, its kinda pointless to be out there now with just one.
I want to see a EPIC break alá 2012 now over Tourmalet. |
