The blogosphere is getting crazy and no news on Daily? What is going on
Anyhow, typically it involves - Garmin.
Backwheel keeps spinning after Hesjedal crash, Marca and L'Equipe suggested motor in Ryder Hesjedal's bike.

Unclipping allows back wheel to get speed again since the road leads a bit down and it turns in circle. My guess, but might as well be something else.
But interesting, from Di Luca's statement:
The 38-year-old also made an audacious claim that many professional riders had their bikes fitted with special 150-watt motors to help them in the hills (presumably suggesting in between the lines that Sky riders had three each in a bid to maintain their notorious 500-watt mountain metronome).

There's no real need to talk about this. Newspapers are ridicoulous. |

How naive you have to be... It's either pedal or spinning wheel that caused it. Even if there's a motor, I am more than 100% sure it's the same power one in all bikes. There's no way Tinkov (and other DS's aswell) would allow Garmin or Sky to have a tiny motor in their bikes and just keep going with that fact, while knowing that his guys doesn't have that advantage.
And I absolutely agree with Di Luca about doping.

Funny how its fuckin Ryder Hesjedal of all people who get accused for that. If thats the actual case (which I am sure it isn't), well that pretty much means that the rest of the peloton use it as well (apart from Contador's supposedly teammates - excluding Tosatto and Bennati here).
But admir, that means you pretty much believe the whole peloton is doped which it isn't. I think there is some truth to it, but to claim what Di Luca did and agree is a pretty big step.

I already said years ago that I believe whole peloton is doped (even before Di Luca said that). It's just matter of will you get a bit too far with it and are you really a valuable player in that "game" (Froome f.e.). And no, I do not have any concrete sources or proofs, this is just how I think it is.

Di Luca is obviously trying to "collaborate" to make himself look better.
But he is probably saying almost the truth about doping.
https://www.gazzet...4073.shtml
Here he says this:
"I was treated badly [...] Vengeance? I prefer saying fairness. Yesterday (29 Jan 2014, ed) the CONI anti-doping prosecutor's office called me, they want the names, but I won't go there. I've never defamed anyone, and I never will [...] and I made those accusations [...] because I love cycling."
He is just protecting himself and he wants to be considered a hero, though no one will do it.
He won't defame anyone because he is afraid to make a worse end than the one he has already done |

In my opinion in the most of the races who takes the better doping wins the races.

I have had that exact same thing happen to my bike when it slid out from under me coming into a corner, I felt the force of it as my foot unlclipped and as much as I wish there was sometimes a motor in my bike (usually after a big amount of k's pushing up 20% grades ) there just isn't. Watching that video at regular speed and it doesn't look that strange.

I don't even get the point in this stage; a rest day would probably be more interesting.

Why, just because they don't go from Point A in Region B to Point C in Region D? Flat stages are part for any Grand Tour and City Circuits add a special something to it. A bit of Crit Racing Feel for a Grand Tour. Especially nice for the town and the folks there.

If I was mayor of a town, I'd invite the Vuelta every year.
