Time to move on from the endless over-inflated debate about the descent...
Today's stage should be quite interesting, to separate who's got an attacking mentality and feeling good and who's just waiting for Friday and Saturday. The climb today cannot be underestimated - 16km @ 8%, with sections of 14%.
Also interesting to note is that it's an extension of the climb to Vetriolo Terme used in last year's Giro del Trentino which saw some decent gaps looking at PCS results (can't put them here for some reason) and so it's a good opportunity for those fighting for a podium place to try and establish a bit of a gap between each other ready for tomorrow and Saturday.
In other news, looks like Diego Ulissi DNS today.
Passo del Redebus can't be also underestimated, it's very tricky mountain.
Die hard fan of Tom Boonen and Quickstep since 2004.
Thank you Ian. I expect the GC-contenders outside top 3 will attack on the last climb today. It looks steep enough and theres just a few seconds between Evans and dont to Rolland. Can't remember if Quintana has ever had a "black-day" on the bike. I've only seen him in the Tour de France but I guess he can allow himself to lose a few seconds anyway as there is no flat ITT left
Not only does he attack on a red flagged descent (don't tell me that there no proof is..) but he is simply laughing at people complaining about the questionable attack.
A little humility would have been nice.. What a jerk.

I see someone acting like a jerk here indeed. But that aint Quintana.

Hoping this isn't a troll because otherwise I'm wasting my time trying to explain.
Quintana did NOT attack on the descent. He followed Rolland and Hesjedal as well (I think) as he saw they were pushing on. He would have had no idea that people behind him thought that the race was neutralised, and so seeing other GC guys attacking the only natural response is to follow. There was so much confusion at that point that it is really very hard to attribute blame to anyone but the organisers.
I can also find no evidence of him 'laughing at people complaining'. I would be very glad if you could provide this evidence, but I doubt he would be that rude.
Taking a more objective view of proceedings might be useful rather than just launching into accusations and other unfavourable statements.

I do no find that Quintana did anything wrong on the descent. He just attacked based on what information he was given by his DS (presumably, although I find it odd that several Movistar riders stopped at the summit - but that would be to speculate).
The whole farce is just due to misinformation and is solely the responsibility of the Giro organizers.
Their communication during the stage was lackluster beyond imagination - and I do understand why some teams think that they have been treated unfavourably by the organization.
About the issue of staying at the front. If you are told that the descent is neutralized, then there is no reason at all for the riders to all try to "be at the front". Noone knew where others riders were; they solely focused on getting down safely, assuming that they would not have to follow riders.

If it was Majka, you'd not be complaining...
If he would be directly proud of it, I would. I admit that Quintana is way better in the mountains.. WAY better, and he would have won the Giro anyways, but the way that he has won it now is unfair.
The Directeur Sportifs all agreed to deduct the gap Quintana, Hesjedal and Rolland had gotten in the bottom of the Stelvio, but UCI has rejected that.
