how did Kangert manage to finish so high? Wasn't he dropped early before the Uran attack and when Agnoli was still working hard for Nibali?
He was. I'm guessing he had a bad moment earlier on the climb, recovered and paced himself to the top.
Kangert time is weird yes..Same time Agnoli who did amazing job today..he also feeded Kangert and lost over 8 min. at the end. Like Kangert would have ride just for himself. |

Ryder Hesjedal, you have failed yourself, your team, and your fans.

In the fantasy game I'm participating in (no transfers allowed), I have Wiggins and Hesjedal as my two expensive captains ... I doubt I'm going to win
Great racing, though, although it looks like an impossible mission to beat Nibali now. |

Of course I'm still rooting for him, but I can't help being disapointed in his GC attempts.

Better than the UK reaction to Wiggins which is just flat out denial that anything is wrong at all. I mean how could it be, he is a Knight of the Realm and out savior from the Europeans

He was, but from memory, came back into the group and did some pacemaking for a bit. |

Who?
Think he means Kangert, but the person who did that was Agnoli

Does anyone think Wiggins is now out of contention? He seems out of it. I'm liking Evans for the podium...for the first time in history.

Must have meant that Ryder rested on the rest day, and either knew it was over before the rest day, or did more damage to his chances by mistake.
Either way, they must have decided Ryder wasn't in top shape before the rest day.
Edit: Wait of course they knew. He lost time before the rest day. I just missed the first week.
Confirmation that he is suffering from some illness.

Too lazy to read over the gazillion pages of discussion since I just came home. Rewatched the race; any news yet on the Wiggins/Sky situation?

Exactly, but maybe to prepare for TdF to help Dan Martin.
This season Hesjedal has not rode in a race more than 6 days. So obviously doing it in Giro for 1st time would have been difficult. He was not well prepared. Maybe not even thinking of defending.
He rode in Volta Catalunya for 1st time in March. Compare that to Wiggins or Nibali who started season in TfOman and TdSan Luiz in January. |
