I never knew Germany had a rugby team till they mentioned it at the WC this year
Not many people here care about Rugby or Cricket, most have never even heard of such sports. I guess even curling is more popular here than cricket(the only way to explain to myself why they keep showing curling on TV in the winter but cricket world cup wasn't even mentioned in any newspaper)

South Africa beat Argentina - didn't play great, mainly won due to Argie mistakes.
So we've got a South Africa England final.
Come on England

The game today was much better than yesterday's match. Far more exciting.
Since May, South Africa and England have played 3 times. South Africa have scored 149 points, England have scored 32.
Based on Average, South Africa will therefore win 50-11

to be fair, that's a bit like the canadians claiming they're good at ice hockey...not many play it

yes, and hockey is bigger and more widespread. you missed my point entirely.
american football is played in pretty much every country too. that doesn't change the fact it isn't played much
apparently, some googling I've just done claims it's the 12th sport with the most professional athletes in the world. a bit far down the scale.

American Football is played at almost every high School in America on friday nights all throughout the fall. I can attest to that as I went to last Fridays game to watch Windsor cream El Molino. Also my little brother plays football in a Pre highscool league as did I(state Champions 2002!)
Therefore football is played all the time you just like to pretend you know everything Isso

Yes but to claim that ootball isn't played a lot is just not true. You can't exclude America from the list of nations that PLay "American" Football. It just doesn't work that way.
Anyways It doesn't really matter because I don't care about any kind of football.

He's talking about how much all countries play it - and cricket goes along in that category too
We're also quite good at that thing where our woman sweep in front of a kettle on an ice rink

I'm talking about how much it is played generally. number of people playing it throughout the world. you can make a case for any sport being played by millions. even curling. but on a global scale, that is small.
I've been checking wikipedia, and depending on who you believe, there's literally a dozen sports who each claim to be second to football worldwide
I laugh everytime I think how stupid that is...
a sport where you sweep....what drunken german gynecologist invented that sport?

Anyway, Jonny Wilkinson will probably stop his rugby career. Why? Because lots of NFL teams are interested in making him an american football kicker in NFL where he can earn about 20 times as much money compared to his earnings now. Wilkinson has said that he's interested, so, well, I guess it's just a matter of time before he waves goodbye to Great Britain |
