Great stuff from Sosa, this was probably the stage I feared the most, being hard but early enough not for his recovery advantage to kick in. But he was great. The good news is we probably keep the jersey through to the Japanese stages now which is lots of points, the bad news, as MRE notes, is the pressure on the team will be a lot. Would be hard to expect a lot more out of Haller, I expect to lose green in the next few days, and Hoehn is already losing minutes on all the flat stage.
Be nice if the boys at Newton would contribute something instead of riding on our coattails and hoovering up depth points like they did last year. Lotto playing the Min-Quintana 1-2 punch well - think that might explain Quintana's strength.
Sympathy to SotD - poor stuff from ELCO, not a good day for Giannoutsos on the stage that probably suited him the best. In news that can't be good for ELCO fans I think the McCormick camp is now more worried about Elosegui. Sympathy also to Jasper on the Fabbro double puncture, he has been riding really wel.
Thanks KB for the report, appreciated the Haller shot.

9th on the stage and moving up to 8th overall. Pretty happy with how we are going so far. Points are flowing but I think we need to get more stage results which probably come from Mudgway but I don't think theres many flat stages left. Davila could be able to get some top 8s in stages and get points. We are looking good in KOM currently with Karatsivis and also the U25 with Rodriguez and Karatsivis. Good race so far!
Congrats to the winners so far and thanks for the great reports!

Annoying knowing Mudgway was 2nd in the peloton sprint but only 7th because the break took the win. But still points so happy with that. Wish it was more though.
Congrats to Phelan. Good report!

I think the break winning every remaining sprint stage would probably suits us in terms of the points jersey. Like to think we aren't even trying to control it on sprint stages, but probably we are, and failing.
Congrats to ANZ, this is turning into quite a race for them.

Some other good-but-not ideal results in the last stages. Shame to not benefit to being 2 in the break in the last stage, and that Lafay can't take the best climber jersey yet. Points are coming, but not quite enough compared to other teams in the division.
We at least need another stage win I think, and to take that jersey.
Thanks for the reports, congrats to the winners and ANZ in particular with a good race indeed.

Congrats Jasper on another victory, well deserved after that mess with Fabbro.
Very happy with our depth performance in the last mountain stages. Fingers crossed for the follow-up!
Thanks KB for the reports!

Second stage win for multiple teams, ANZ doing really well here, not bad for the (currently) last team in CT

Awesome win by Edmondson, and some much needed succes after a very poor first two weeks. This was basically one of two reasons to bring in Edmondson in the off season. To have a lead sprinter in America, and to have a competitive C2 rider. Scoring 1 point in 3 C2 races obviously meant that was a mistake, but he showed up here, and is now only 19 points short of our pre-season goal for him. Another stagewin would seal that - but fighting for a top 3 in one of the two remaining flat stages would still be great.
The next two stages are likely for Sosa, and then I can only hope that Giannoutsos, Mavrikakis and Christakos will start working together to claw back some GC positions and end up significantly better than 6th in the Team GC, which is absolutely horrible looking at the team we brought here.
We are looking at Soulious for the upcoming stages, to see if he can maybe get a top 3 in either of them.

More points for Mudgway with 7th but I’m seeing that he’s not positioning himself the best. He should have achieved higher to be honest but still points are points. Hopefully he can keep it going and maybe achieve more with the sprints stages that are remaining.
Congrats Edmondson and SotD. Good win! Thanks for the report!

Haller's legs clearly feeling his age, just not quite sharp enough but did enough to hang on to the jersey for now, still two more sprint stages to go, not confident he can hold.
Would really like some more bonus seconds from the next two stages but feel like they probably go to the break. Hong Kong could cause gaps if we are aggressive.
Congrats to SotD, maybe this is the sign the team are refocused and ready to go in the last week.

Oh no. Sosa must have contracted a virus or something, or suffered an unnoticed puncture. Really awful to see, he should never lose so much time on a stage that had a tailor-made finish.
Good move by Elosegui, though, probably means we'd have had a nice fight until the end - but now I doubt we will. Unless Giannoutsos finally wakes up and does something similar.
If Sosa was on my team, I guess PCM would have made him work to chase the break, so he ran out of gas in the end. Happened to my team leaders twice within less than a year. Wouldn't even be surprised anymore if PCM was that dumb. But really hope that it was just a mistimed puncture.
The report was nice to read once again, though. Would have been interesting to track what happened to Sosa, but difficult to focus on one rider in the finale. Thanks for your great job anyway!

Oh boy… These types of races are just broken so bad…
Really sad to see Sosa losing the lead like that. It would have been something Else if it was from a real mountainstage.
Giannoutsos back to 4th also, so not a good stage for us either. I wonder if this race will also end up being won by a breakaway rider. The gaps could hint towards it.

Feel bad for Sosa but it also might be a tactical play so his team doesn't have to control the peloton anymore Didn't expect this at all, but awesome to see Elosegui rising to the occasion. Should be a fun final week of racing!

Happy to see Davila being able to follow the big boys. Good on him for gaining some time. Still 8th but bigger time gaps then before. Karatsivis gained some more points but so did the other guys. Need a break where he’s the only one there so he can start to claw back the lead but still good to see the young lad in the attack so often!
Congrats to MRE for the win and gc lead. I’m sure Sosa will bounce back though! Thanks for the great report!

Well that was a disaster of the first order.
Nice team comraderie that Kuss and Cabrera finished with him. We are going to put it behind us and hope he is better tomorrow.

oh no Sosa!
Kind of feel like Glanbia have got everything we are getting out of this...but we'll hope for a stage win or for Mannion to perform a KOM miracle!
