Tour of California - UCI WT, real 2018 Edition 2018 of the Tour of California is played out from 13 May to 19 May. Starting in Long Beach and finishing in Sacramento, it’s the third time in race history that the route runs from south to north. The Tour of California covers a variety of terrain, allowing different types of specialists to shine throughout the seven-day stage race. George Bennett is title holder.
The 2018 Tour of California begins close to Los Angeles, in Long Beach. The race revisits Long Beach for the first time since 2007, when Cuban Iván Domínguez sprinted to victory in the last stage of an edition that was won by Levi Leipheimer. In 2018, the Long Beach criterium will be the 1st stage and it’s likely we’ll see a fast finishers showdown.
As soon as stage 2 the focus shifts to the climbers. The race travels from Ventura – a first time host – to Santa Barbara County for a summit finish on Gibraltar Road after a 12 kilometres climb at 8%, while the last 2 kilometres go up at 10%. It’s here Julian Alaphilippe propelled to both stage and overall victory in 2016.
King City debuts as a host of the start of stage 3, which finishes at the Laguna Seca raceway on the Monterey Peninsula. Another chance for fast men. Two editions ago Peter Sagan outsprinted a reduced peloton at the former F1 circuit
A possibly decisive day will be the fourth day of action. Stage 4 is an individual time trial in San Jose before stage 5 runs from Stockton to a sprinter’s finish in Elk Grove.
Stage 6 will be last chance for the GC guys, as this is a hilly stage to South Lake Tahoe, where Toms Skujiņš took the stage honours in 2016.
The final day of action brings a criterium in Sacramento. Marcel Kittel and Mark Cavendish are the last winners in the capital city of California, so we should not expect any changes in the overall rankings.
S1 - Long Beach
S2 - Gibraltar Road (with Santa Barbara in the background)
S3 - Approaching the finish on Laguna Seca Raceway
S6 - Climbing through the fog
S6 - Breakaway
S6 - Uphill finish in South Lake Tahoe
S7 - Entering the finishing circuit in Sacramento
S7 - Peloton

And just very glad and grateful to see this in pcm15 mode mate.
Thanks.
(Yes I will see to pick up a pcm17 on discount soon enough. Little time to actually starting installing all new stuff to get a pcm17 up and running. Life is a bitch isn't it ?)
My humble question if pcm15 zcts files can be loaded into pcm17 directly without messing around with a pcm16. I know older like pcm14 can't be used in pcm17 unless they first are put into pcm15 or pcm16.
Could you set this straight for me tsomah (or anyone else) ?????

I could easily load my PCM15 stage files into PCM17 SE. Had one or two minor sprint issues to fix then, but it seemed to work fine afterall.
And thanks, sutty

I'm not that good in writing French anymore
But I guess you need to convert the stages for PCM18. If you have the stage files / zcts files. Not sure if the download link still works?

Is there any chance you could still dig up your Vuelta a Mendoza stage files somewhere? Tried to download them from your ancient stage thread but the link is down.

Mendoza, wow. It's been a while. I think I once tried to find those files somewhere, but didn't succeed. Not sure though. Will have a look into it again, but can't promise anything. I fear I won't find it anymore. Which is a shame, since I kinda liked the race..

So do I. With San Juan and San Luis variants around, I thought it'd be great to have it and rotate them as a Vuelta a Argentina. Thanks in advance for having a look.

OH. Sorry to not have confirmed, that I do not have any backups from this very old stuff. It may be on an old notebook, that's somewhere in my basement.. Maybe. Thanks for your patience though

Hi tsmoha,
had any time to explore your basement lately?
Also, is there chance you could use the second stage of your USA Grand Tour as a base for a classic in and around Baltimore? After conversion it could even be used in 2020 DB's as a possible route for the Maryland Cycling Classic, which was supposed to have its inaugural edition this year. |
