4th in the GC for Valls means we have achieved our first goal of a Top 5!
Massive points haul here winning the teams classification with all riders inside the Top 45.

Zardini managed to salvage 16th on GC thanks to the hilly stages, if he'd have lost less time on the mountain stage or if there was another hilly stage I think he might have been challenging the top 10.
Oh well, hopefully we can build on this result and improve as the season goes on, next up for us is the tour of the middle east where we bring a former Podium finisher to fight for the GC although judging by the betting odds I think he'll struggle to repeat that, even if he has the same stats as he did back then.
thanks for the reports tsmoha

Great performance by Chiarello eventually winning comfortably the mountain classification and making the second top10 stage in this race. Vakoc to show in this stage that could have done much better in the standings it were not a bad stage4.
It's really a shame to lose the points classification for only 1 point but it was something that already expected, the 2nd place already serves some consolation.
Regarding the overall classificacion is a race to forget with just Gerdemman (21st) in a decent position. But it turns out to be a good race with 132 points scored, 22PpRD something that for the team is a good score.
Congrats for FroomeDog99 and big thanks for tshoma for the great work

1 place lost in GC, but let's not beat around the bush, what a fantastic, unexpected, tour of Eritrea for us. - A stage win and a solid GC result, with everything else - couldn't have pictured a better start to the season.
That last stage really saved this tour for the locals!
Thanks for the coverage, not longer than it really needed to be. |

Congratulations to team Kenya here for a massive win.
5th is acceptable for VdB and coupled with De Clerq’s 11th this is a really solid point scoring race for us that puts some pressure on the top of the table

15th place overall for Kratochvila is decent, a couple of nice sprints from Vesely is ok too. Ok race for me. Congrats to Froomedog, thanks for the reports.

This is actually the reason why I initially decided to sign with Valverde - he'll do very well as leader in the PCT races.
Anyhow, poor showing by the Orange boys. Secondary positions in the last couple of stages doesn't really change that impression. |

Just caught up with all reports after being gone for the whole weekend.
Kinda saw this comming and had obviously hoped for more. Pantano continues his poor form atm and the rest of the team doesnt to much aswell, had really hoped for more by atleast Landa in the hillier stages.
incredible race for some teams as Kenya though - didnt think he could make it but he impressed hugely on the odd mountain stage.
Thanks for the reports, Tsmoha!

When I saw Kiserlovski was 5th after the mountain stage I thought that the race would be decent for our team, as he is one of the stronger puncheurs here, but then he lost his good position in the hilly stages where I hoped he could at least maintain what he got so far. Finishing behind Iglinskiy in a race like this is just embarassing.
Nice 5th from Jang out of the break. |

Well that mountain stage was certainly disappointingly with Berhane very below par. Teklehaimanot too could have done better - and weird to see him disappear on the first hill stage having been well placed in the break.
But thank goodness for that final stage! Fantastic win for Amanuel, and a great stage performance from Teklit too. Berhane salvaging 9th overall, while below expectations, was also crucial as it met out Top 10 goal.
Fun to have an all Eritrean team in here - was nice to see one of the developing riders Eyob get the KoM jersey for a day too.
